It is nestled between Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary and a group of rural villages. Tapovan is situated in Sueldev Wildlife Sanctuary on the Indo-Nepal border. The sanctuary, named after a local King Suhel Dev, is approximately 120 km long and 6-8 km wide. The area was famed as the hunting grounds of the erstwhile princely states of Balrampur and Tulsipur. ird and plant life. It is ideal for a quiet getaway from the city. Activities include birdwatching, day visit to Sravasti- a prominent Buddhist site, jungle drives and village & forest treks.
