Fake Gold Case: ₹6 Lakh Recovered

In connection with Kushmandi P.S. Case No. 228/26 dated 07.08.2026, three accused persons were arrested and taken into police remand.

Based on their leading statements, ₹6,00,000/- allegedly cheated from the complainant was recovered and seized from their rented house at Itahar Uttarpara, Uttar Dinajpur.

All three accused persons have been forwarded before the Ld. Court after completion of police remand.

ভুয়ো সোনা প্রতারণা মামলায় ₹৬ লক্ষ টাকা উদ্ধার

কুশমণ্ডি থানার মামলা নং ২২৮/২৬, তারিখ ০৭.০৮.২০২৬-এর তদন্তে তিন অভিযুক্তকে গ্রেফতার করে পুলিশ হেফাজতে নেওয়া হয়।

পুলিশ হেফাজতে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের সময় অভিযুক্তদের দেওয়া তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে উত্তর দিনাজপুর জেলার ইটাহার উত্তরপাড়া এলাকায় তাদের ভাড়া বাড়ি থেকে অভিযোগকারীকে প্রতারণা করে নেওয়া ₹৬,০০,০০০/- (ছয় লক্ষ টাকা) উদ্ধার ও আইনানুগভাবে বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়।

পুলিশ হেফাজতের মেয়াদ শেষ হওয়ার পর তিন অভিযুক্তকেই বিজ্ঞ আদালতে পেশ করা হয়েছে।

Massive Crackdown against illegal sand mining at Atrayee River

On 13.08.2026, a raid was conducted at Kalikapur and Fulghara Ghats under Balurghat PS against illegal sand mining. 13 persons were arrested, and 5 country-made boats, 4 tractors with trolleys, 2 JCBs, 1 dumper and 9 mobile phones were seized.
A case has been registered under Sections 303(2) & 317(2) BNS, read with Section 21 of the MMDR Act, 1957.

অত্রাই নদীতে অবৈধ বালি উত্তোলনের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যাপক অভিযান

১৩.০৮.২০২৬ তারিখে কালিকাপুর ও ফুলঘরা ঘাটে অবৈধ বালি উত্তোলনের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযান চালিয়ে ১৩ জনকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়। অভিযানে ৫টি দেশি নৌকা, ৪টি ট্রলি-সহ ট্রাক্টর, ২টি JCB, ১টি ডাম্পার এবং ৯টি মোবাইল ফোন বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে।
এই ঘটনায় BNS-এর ৩০৩(২) ও ৩১৭(২) ধারা এবং MMDR Act, 1957-এর ২১ ধারায় বালুরঘাট থানায় মামলা রুজু হয়েছে।

পরিবেশ ও নদীর স্বার্থ রক্ষায় অবৈধ বালি উত্তোলনের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযান অব্যাহত।

Conviction under POCSO Act in Trial Monitoring case at Dakshin Dinajpur

A POCSO case monitored by Dakshin Dinajpur District Police has resulted in the conviction of accused Montu Das.

On 12.08.2026, Ld. ADJ 2nd Court, Balurghat sentenced him to 5 years’ imprisonment and ₹5,000 fine under Section 10 POCSO Act, and 3 years’ imprisonment with ₹5,000 fine under Section 12 POCSO Act.

দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলা পুলিশের ট্রায়াল মনিটরিং-এর আওতায় থাকা একটি POCSO মামলায় অভিযুক্ত মন্টু দাস দোষী সাব্যস্ত হয়েছে।

১২.০৮.২০২৬ তারিখে বালুরঘাটের মাননীয় ADJ, ২য় আদালত অভিযুক্তকে POCSO আইনের ধারা ১০-এর অধীনে ৫ বছরের কারাদণ্ড ও ₹৫,০০০ জরিমানা এবং ধারা ১২-এর অধীনে ৩ বছরের কারাদণ্ড ও ₹৫,০০০ জরিমানা প্রদান করেন।

On 12.08.2026, an awareness programme on Child Rights, Child Safety and Prevention of Child Marriage was organised at Deor High School under Kumarganj PS. Police, CID, BSF, school authorities, NGO representatives, students, guardians and Shakti Bahini participated. Awareness leaflets on preventing child marriage were distributed.
