Polytechnic
A. Age Criteria
For admission to 1st year of Polytechnics, there is no upper age limit, but candidate’s Date of Birth should not be after 01.07.2011. For admission to 2nd year of Polytechnics, there is no age limit.
B. Qualification Criteria
1st Year: Passed / Appearing Madhyamik or Class 10 equivalent Board Examinations with Science / Physical Science and Mathematics from any recognized Board / Council / Institute.
2nd Year: Passed / Appearing Higher Secondary or 10+2 Board Examination or equivalent examination with any one of the subjects of Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics /Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology /Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics /Business Studies /Entrepreneurship from any recognized Board / Council/ Institute
OR,
Passed / Appearing Higher Secondary (Vocational) Examination of WBSCT&VE&SD
OR,
Passed 10th + 2 years ITI (continuous) in annual system or semester system shall be eligible for admission to Second Year in any branch of Engineering and Technology.
Industrial Training Institutes (ITI)
A. Age Criteria
For admission to ITIs, Minimum age limit: 14 years of age as on 01.08.2026, i.e. born before 01.08.2012. There is no upper age limit.
B. Qualification Criteria
E Group: Passed/ Appearing Class 8 or Equivalent Examination from a School situated in West Bengal.
M Group: Passed/ Appearing Madhyamik or Class 10 Equivalent board examination from a school situated in West Bengal.

New Applications are invited now for the Five Days House Wiring Technician' Training at different Government ITIs under Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department, Government of West Bengal, in collaboration with Power Department, Government of West Bengal. Certified candidates may apply for the Electrical Workmen's Permit under Rule -17, Sub-Rule (3).
