Concluding a productive and forward-looking visit by Prime Minister to Rome.

Italy and India continue to strengthen a partnership built on friendship, trust and shared values.

Prime Minister Meloni and Prime Minister Modi agreed to elevate 🇮🇹 🇮🇳 ties to a Special Strategic Partnership, opening a new phase of deeper and more ambitious collaboration.

The visit included a meeting with President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, as well as discussions between Foreign Ministers and .

Both sides set a €20 billion trade target by 2029, launched a 2027 Year of Culture and Tourism, and advanced work on an Italian innovation centre in India, alongside IMEC and other initiatives.

Wrapping up our Italian Design Day with a thought-provoking panel discussion at the Science Gallery, followed by a cocktail reception to close the day.

Our sincere thanks to Antonella Andriani (VP, ), Federico Fraternale (Co-founder, & ), and Nicola La Noce (Co-founder, ), with thoughtful moderation by Smitha Zachariah (Founder, SZ Design), for an insightful and inspiring exchange.

Aligned with this year’s theme, “Re-Design: Regenerating spaces, objects, ideas, and relationships,” the conversation explored the essence of Italian design and its relevance in Southern India - concluding with an engaging dialogue with designers, architects, industry professionals, and enthusiasts.

A fantastic turnout for ICONS of DESIGN exhibition launch and private viewing at Science Gallery Bengaluru

Part of Italian Design Day 2026, the exhibition was inaugurated by Consul General Giandomenico Milano alongside Simone Vago , sharing his family’s design legacy and remarkable collection - and announcing vago.com’s upcoming India launch (). Special thanks to Vago for generously loaning all the works featured in the exhibition from their private collection.

Curated by Antonella Andriani (VP of ADI ), the exhibition featured 10 iconic pieces by Compasso d’Oro–winning Italian designers and brands.

ICONS of DESIGN was open to the public 10-12 April, thank you to everyone who came by - we look forward to continuing to share and celebrate Italian design with you in Bengaluru.
