The visit of Dr. Swati Mohan, Space Scientist and Project Manager for AstroNav at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), along with Mr. Eric Atkins and Mr. Gokula Krishnan, to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Bengaluru, is a proud moment for Karnataka's science and technology ecosystem.

Such interactions inspire students, researchers and innovators, strengthen scientific temper, and foster global collaboration in science and technology. Karnataka remains committed to nurturing scientific talent, advancing innovation and reinforcing its position as India's leading hub for science, research and technology.

ನಾಸಾದ ಜೆಟ್ ಪ್ರೊಪಲ್ಷನ್ ಲ್ಯಾಬೊರೇಟರಿ (JPL)ಯ ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೋನಾವ್ (AstroNav) ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಡಾ. ಸ್ವಾತಿ ಮೋಹನ್ ಅವರು, ಶ್ರೀ ಎರಿಕ್ ಅಟ್ಕಿನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋಕುಲ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಜವಾಹರಲಾಲ್ ನೆಹರು ತಾರಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿರುವುದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇಂತಹ ಸಂವಾದಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ನವೋದ್ಯಮಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಮನೋಭಾವವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿ, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಲು, ನಾವೀನ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ, ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸದೃಢಗೊಳಿಸಲು ನಮ್ಮ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಸದಾ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ.

🌕 International Moon Day 2026 | Pilikula Regional Science Centre 🚀

Exploring the Moon. Inspiring the Future. 🌙✨

Highlights:

Over 200 students and teachers from schools and PU colleges across Dakshina Kannada participated in the celebration.

Dr. P. G. Diwakar, Distinguished Scientist and Former Scientific Secretary, ISRO, inspired students with India's remarkable Chandrayaan journey and encouraged them to dream big and contribute to the nation's future space missions.

Shri H. R. Eshwar, Block Education Officer, urged students to nurture curiosity, discipline, and a lifelong passion for learning.

Dr. Sriniketan, Former Dean, NITK, encouraged young minds to aspire for greater scientific achievements.

Dr. Ashok, Director, Pilikula Regional Science Centre, emphasized leveraging AI, science, and innovation to build a developed India.

Today at Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium (JNP), Bengaluru, the book *The Second Orbit*, authored by Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, was officially released in the presence of eminent leaders from India's science, space, and defence communities. The event featured Group Captain Gaganayaatri Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, Air Marshal Seethepalli Shrinivas, Prof. K. Vijayaraghavan, Wing Commander Ravish Malhotra, Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar, Dr. S. Somanath, and Dr. B. R. Guruprasad.

Around 350 students from schools across Bengaluru attended the programme. Their interaction with the distinguished dignitaries encouraged scientific curiosity, innovation, and a deeper appreciation for India's achievements in space technology, research, and aerospace—motivating the next generation to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and innovation.

ಜೂನ್ 30, 2026ರಂದು ಪಿಲಿಕುಳ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕ್ಷುದ್ರಗ್ರಹ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಗಳ ಸುಮಾರು 200 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ, ಕ್ಷುದ್ರಗ್ರಹಗಳು, ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಖಗೋಳಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಆಸಕ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ವಿಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು.
