We are the National Service Scheme wing of M. We work towards developing social responsibility among our student volunteers. We plan and execute activities over each academic year, which are structured for the development of our society. We take a keen interest in carrying out vocational training for the underprivileged. In our initiative to restore some greenery in Bengaluru we plant tree sapling
every year. We host collection drives to collect supplies like books, stationary, groceries, clothes and bed spreads. We donate these supplies when we visit orphanages and old age homes. We also host a Blood Donation Camp every year. We also hold a record for the most blood units collected in a single day. NSS-MSRIT has an emergency blood donation service for the public through which we arrange for a donor to donate blood during emergencies. We strongly believe in educating our future generation. Every year we conduct a Special Camp in which we adopt a few government schools in our locality. During this camp our volunteers teach government school children for a period of 15 days. We focus on building the English speaking ability and developing computer operating skills of the government school children. Emphasis is also given in exposing the government school children to art and music so as to encourage them to indulge in these hobbies. We conduct free eye and dental checkups for these students followed by issuing of free spectacles for the students with impaired vision. We also hold community outreach programs during which we conduct free health checkups in residential colonies around our Institute. We also conduct awareness programs which focus on addressing social issues. Each year we try to bring diversity into the activities that we conduct, targeting different sections of society and addressing various social problems. Under the careful guidance of our NSS officer Dr. Putta Bore Gowda we have successfully hosted a number of activities.
