ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 12ರ ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ಮುಷ್ಕರ ಕೇವಲ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ, ರೈತರ, ಕೂಲಿಕಾರರ, ದುಡಿಯುವ ಜನರ ಹೋರಾಟವಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಕೆಲಸದ ಹಕ್ಕು, ಬದುಕಿನ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಿಧಾನಾತ್ಮಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಾರ್ವತ್ರಿಕ ಮುಷ್ಕರವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕೇಂದ್ರ, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರಗಳು ತರುತ್ತಿರುವ ನೀತಿಗಳು ಜನಸಾಮನ್ಯರ ಕತ್ತು ಹಿಸುಕುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಈ ನೀತಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಹಾಗೂ ರೈತ ವಿರೋಧಿ ವಿಷಯ ಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ಸಮಾಜದ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶ್ರಮಿಕ ವರ್ಗ ಹಾಗು ರೈತರು ಈ ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಬೇಕಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಬೇಕಿದೆ

ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಹಕ್ಕು, ರೈತರ ಬದುಕು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗದ ಭದ್ರತೆ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಹಿತದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು. ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವುದು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಹೊಣೆಗಾರಿಕೆ.

73 ವರ್ಷ ತುಂಬಿ ಇಂದು 74 ನೆ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೆನ್ನೆಯಿಂದ ಮನಸಾರೆ ಹರಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಿಗೆ, HMKP ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೃದಯಪೂರ್ವಕ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು.

Michael Fernandes Felicitated on his 92nd Birthday; HMKP Launches IT Workers Wing & New Website*

In a heartfelt civic ceremony at Kondajji Basappa Auditorium,palace road, Bangalore, veteran socialist and trade union leader *Michael B. Fernandes* was honoured with a *Civic Recognition* by *Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah* on the occasion of his *92nd birth anniversary*.

The event, jointly organized by the *Hind Mazdoor Kisan Panchayat (HMKP)* and the *Santosh Lad Foundation*, brought together over 400 admirers, colleagues, and dignitaries who paid rich tributes to *Michael Fernandes* and his wife, noted social worker *Donna Fernandes*,( Chief of 'AWEKSHA' forum for women rights protection) for their lifelong dedication to public service and the rights of the working class.

In his address, the Chief Minister lauded *Michael Fernandes* as “_a living institution who has spent his entire life working for justice, equality, and the upliftment of workers and farmers._” The felicitation included the traditional presentation of a *shawl, Mysore peta, memento, and a citation* highlighting his decades of contribution to labour and civil society.

Adding to the day’s significance, the Chief Minister also inaugurated *HMKP’s official website (HMKPIndia.com)* and launched its *dedicated IT Workers Wing*, aimed at safeguarding labour rights in India’s technology sector. The initiative signals HMKP’s commitment to adapt its historic struggle for worker dignity to the needs of the digital era.

*Retired Chief Justice of India M. N. Venkatachaliah* graced the programme as Chief Guest, while *Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh Lad* chaired the session. He also felicitated *Michael* and *Donna Fernandes* for their lifelong service.

Other eminent dignitaries present included *BR Patil*, Deputy Chairman of the Karnataka Planning Commission; *Nazeer Ahamed*, MLC and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister; *Professor Babu Mathew, National law school of India ,*Ramashankar*, senior socialist leader and former Minister from Madhya Pradesh; *SK Kanta*, former Karnataka Labour Minister; *PGR Sindhia , former finance Minister; *Mohan Kumar Kondajji*, ex-MLC; *L. Kalappa*, National President of HMKP and Fredi d'sa National Treasurer HMKP.

Speaking on future directions, *Dushyant Dubey*, social worker and HMKP Karnataka executive committee member, announced that the union will soon roll out a *mobile application* to help workers and farmers across India seek redress for workplace and livelihood concerns.

The event concluded with a *standing ovation*, symbolizing the deep respect and admiration that the working class and citizens continue to hold for *Michael Fernandes’* family and their enduring commitment to society.

Mr Santhosh S lad, the hon'ble minister for labour visit to Mr Michael B Fernandes house:

In a heartfelt gesture, the Honourable Labour Minister Mr Santhosh Lad paid a personal visit to the residence of veteran labour leader Mr Michael B Fernandes today, following the unfortunate road accident that left the respected leader injured. The visit was marked by warmth, concern, and solidarity, reflecting the high regard in which the senior leader is held within both the labour movement and government circles.He not only honoured him with garland, shawl, fruits and flowers but also wished him speedy recovery.

The Minister spent considerable time at the residence, speaking with Mr Michael & his wife & a well known social activist Donna Fernandes,and,the progress of recovery, and any assistance that may be required. He expressed his deep concern for the health and well-being of Mr Michael, recalling his lifelong contributions to the labour movement, workers’ rights, and social justice.

During the interaction, the Minister reassured the family of full support from the the Government. He also instructed officials to explore avenues for facilitating the best possible medical care and rehabilitation support if needed.

Mr L.Kalappa, National President HMKP who was with Mr Michael the veteran leader expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit and emotional support, stating that it was a great encouragement during a difficult time.

The visit highlighted the strong bond of respect and camaraderie between leaders and underscored the government’s commitment to standing by those who have selflessly served the cause of workers and society at large.
