Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare's core concept of child development goes back half a century, when Lady Raman started an informal school. This idea evolved over the years to create the many activities, institutions and programs that KSCCW stands for today. KSCCW has always been one of the most proactive State Child Welfare Councils in India pioneering in innovative programs for the less
privileged. Although the organisation is childcentric, children grow, therefore KSCCW has a number of programs that accompany children in their journey through adulthood with a supportive environment, until they become Self Reliant and Responsible Adults. The council works primarily with children and women form vulnerable categories in Bangalore city and Districts of Karnataka, there are 18 district councils that are affiliated to KSCCW. Today KSCCW looks back with pride and pleasure at the hundreds of children who blossomed due to the timely help given to them - be it shelter, education, supplementary nutrition, medical care and career guidance, changing their lives and making a big impact on their future. The council plans to further expand its activities & reach out to many more children who are in need, and also involve young individuals for their guidance and support and help the KSCCW family grow.
