The serious irregularities that occurred in the Police Constable recruitment examination conducted today by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) in Tikota of Vijayapura district and in Hassan are highly condemnable. There have been complaints that question papers were distributed about an hour late for the exam scheduled to begin at 10 AM, and there were discrepancies in the numbers on the answer sheets provided to the candidates. These developments have raised serious doubts about the transparency and credibility of the examination process.
Government recruitment examinations are crucial processes that determine the future of lakhs of youth, and there should be no room for negligence or malpractice in such exams. Providing justice to candidates who appear for these exams after investing years of hard work, time, and money must be the top priority of the government and the examination authority. It is deeply saddening that thousands of candidates have been subjected to mental stress due to the lapses at the examination centers.
Therefore, the Karnataka Examination Authority must take this matter very seriously and immediately order a comprehensive high-level probe. The complete truth of the incident must be transparently revealed to the public, and strict action must be taken if any official's negligence or malpractice is found. If necessary, the government and KEA should take appropriate decisions regarding the respective examination centers and act immediately to ensure that no candidate faces injustice.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ (KEA) ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಇಂದು ವಿಜಯಪುರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ತಿಕೋಟಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಕಾನ್ಸ್ಟೇಬಲ್ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಭೀರ ಅಕ್ರಮಗಳು ನಡೆದಿರುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಖಂಡನೀಯ. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 10 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ಗಂಟೆ ತಡವಾಗಿ ವಿತರಿಸಿರುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾದ ಉತ್ತರ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸಗಳಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ದೂರುಗಳು ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿವೆ. ಈ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗಂಭೀರ ಅನುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕಿವೆ.
ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಯುವಕರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇಂತಹ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಅಥವಾ ಅಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಇರಬಾರದು. ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ, ಸಮಯ ಮತ್ತು ಹಣವನ್ನು ಹೂಡಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಹಾಜರಾಗುವ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಮೊದಲ ಆದ್ಯತೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾದ ಲೋಪಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿರುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದುಃಖಕರ.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರವು ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ, ಕೂಡಲೇ ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಮಗ್ರ ತನಿಖೆಗೆ ಆದೇಶಿಸಬೇಕು. ಘಟನೆಯ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸತ್ಯಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕವಾಗಿ ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಿ, ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಅಥವಾ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಠಿಣ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಸೂಕ್ತ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು, ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗೆ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗದಂತೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹಾಗೂ KEA ತಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ರಮವಹಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
