குறைகள் தீர்க்கும் சனிப் பிரதோஷ அபிஷேகங்கள்!

பிரதோஷம் என்பதற்கு "பாவங்களை போக்கக்கூடிய வேளை" என்று பொருள்.

அமிர்தம் வேண்டி தேவர்களும் அசுரர்களும் பாற்கடலைக் கடைந்தபோது, முதலில் ஆலகால விஷம் தோன்றியது. தேவர்கள் உட்பட அகிலம் முழுவதும் ஆலகாலத்தின் வெம்மையைத் தாங்கிக் கொள்ள முடியாமல் தவித்தனர். அவர்களிடம் கருணை கொண்ட சிவபெருமான், ஆலகால விஷத்தைத் தாம் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார். சிவபெருமானின் கருணைக்கு நன்றி செலுத்த தேவர்கள் சென்றபோது, நஞ்சுண்ட பரமனின் மூச்சுக் காற்று பட்டு தேவர்கள் அனைவரும் மயங்கினர். தேவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவதற்காக, நந்திதேவர் அந்த நச்சுக் காற்றை உள்வாங்கி தூய காற்றை வெளியிட்டார். இதனால் தேவர்கள் மயக்கம் தெளிந்து எழுந்தனர இந்த நிகழ்வே பிரதோஷம் என்று அழைக்கப் படுகிறது.

வளர்பிறை, தேய்பிறை ஆகிய திரயோதசி திதிகளில் அனைத்து சிவாலயங்களிலும் பிரதோஷ பூஜை நடைபெறுகிறது. மாலை 4.30 முதல் 6.00 மணி வரை உள்ள நேரமே பிரதோஷ நேரமாகும். இந்த நேரத்தில் சிவாலயங்களுக்குச் சென்று சிவபெருமானை வழிபடுவது அனைத்து
தோஷங்களையும் போக்கி, மகிழ்ச்சியான வாழ்க்கையைத் தரும்.
