Rajneethi is proud to unveil our latest report, authored by thought leader Pramit Pal Chaudhuri, exploring Indiaโs evolving perspectives on security, geopolitics, and trade.
In collaboration with Friedrich Naumann Foundation India and kalingakusum, we surveyed urban elites across 46 key questions to map the future of Indiaโs strategic autonomy.

โ ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ผ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฅ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐. ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐: India is a rising force, yet unemployment and environmental pollution remain the top domestic concerns.
โ ๐๐น๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ผ๐๐๐ต ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ: Foreign policy is perceived as inward-looking, with India primarily seeing itself as a leader of the Global South.
โ ๐ฃ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ๐: The US retains the strongest military power, but the EU and China are viewed as the dominant economic engines.
โ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฟ: The US is still seen as the technological leader, with China following closely behind.
โ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ & ๐ง๐ฟ๐๐๐: Despite growing Western ties, Russia remains Indiaโs most trusted security partner.
โ ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ฐ ๐๐๐๐ผ๐ป๐ผ๐บ๐: There is overwhelming support for maintaining strategic autonomy, including continued trade with Russia.
โ ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐จ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: We found strong support for deeper economic integration with the European Union.
