Official statement on recent income tax department proceedings KJ George

𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐱 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬

In view of the misinformation being circulated regarding myself and the companies under my chairmanship, purportedly in connection with the and the Energy Department - Government of Karnataka, we wish to issue the following clarification:

The recent interaction with the Income Tax Department was a routine regulatory exercise solely pertaining to the verification of our companies’ income tax filings. There is no connection whatsoever to any government project or department, including the program or the .

Our teams extended full cooperation to the authorities during this scheduled compliance review, consistent with our long-standing commitment to transparency and adherence to the law.

We categorically reject and strongly refute any speculative or misleading claims suggesting otherwise.

We urge all concerned to exercise discretion and refrain from spreading or endorsing baseless allegation.

ಆದಾಯ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ನಡಾವಳಿಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ

ನನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ಮೀಟರ್ ಉಪಕ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಇಂಧನ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹರಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ, ನಾವು ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ:

ನಮ್ಮ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳ ಆದಾಯ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯನ್ನು ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಆದಾಯ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ತಂಡವು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿತು. ಇದು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದಾಯ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಗೂ ಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ಮೀಟರ್ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಅಥವಾ ಇಂಧನ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾನೂನುಪರ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚಿಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಈ ನಿಗದಿತ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂಡಗಳು ಆದಾಯ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದು, ಯಾವ ಬಗೆಯ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ ಊಹಾಪೋಹಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿಸುವುದು ಅನುಚಿತ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಂತಹ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.

ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸಿ ಆಧಾರವಿಲ್ಲದ ಆರೋಪಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಡುವುದಾಗಲೀ ಅಥವಾ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುವುದಾಗಲೀ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ.
