The Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) (ಜನತಾ ದಳ (ಜಾತ್ಯಾತೀತ)) is a centre-left Indian political party led by former Prime Minister of India H.D. The Janata Dal (Secular) traces its roots back to the Janata Party organized by Jayprakash Narayan that united all anti-Indira Gandhi parties under one banner for the 1977 national elections. The Karnataka Assembly elections in 2004 revived the fortunes of JD (S

), when it entered into an alliance with the ruling government in the state. The JD (S) believes in bearing true allegiance to the Constitution of India, by building a socialist, secular, democratic Republic of India, where all individuals will live in harmony, barring any social or political discrimination. In 2013 General Elections, JD(S) emerged as second largest party with 40 MLAs and highest vote shares. Yelahanka Assembly constituency lies to the north of Bengaluru. which has 3 Hobli ( Dasanpura hobli, Hesarghatta hobli,Yelahanka hobli) Yelahanka Assembly constituency has around 28 Grama Panchyats. Yelahanka Town it was a Municipal council and Taluk (lies below the District level in administrative setup) headquarters prior to formation of BBMP and now forms a part of greater Bengaluru. A well planned township was developed during early 1980s to the south of the city by Karnataka Housing Board and is identified by several names like 'Yelahanka Upanagara', 'Yelahanka Satellite Town', 'Yelahanka New Town' or simply 'Housing Board'.

Yelahanka constituency is one of the main hubs for the education and industrialization. this constituency has a famous Companies like Rail wheel factory,Fedral Mougal Himalaya Drug etc...The constituency has given and continues giving many leaders and talents to the state and National level.
