FROM KAKSAR — OPENING NEW WORLDS THROUGH EDUCATION 🌄📚

HVT Education & Community Tour 2026 | Primary School, Kaksar

As part of the HVT Education & Community Tour 2026, the HVT Education Team travelled into the remote Kaksar region of Kargil, Ladakh, navigating difficult terrain to reach children and the community.

The team included HVT training faculty - Nitasha Garg, Shubha Laxmi Naik, Priti Sanghvi and Namrata Agarwal,
Aradhya, along with HVT volunteers Mariya Zamani and Mysha Garg .

Kaksar is a remote and strategically significant Himalayan region, shaped by difficult terrain and a resilient community. For HVT, reaching such locations is about ensuring that geography does not limit a young person’s exposure to learning and possibilities.

📖 BRINGING JOY INTO THE CLASSROOM

At Primary School Kaksar, the team conducted interactive storytelling and learning sessions, creating an environment where children could listen, imagine, question, participate and express themselves.

For children growing up in remote Himalayan villages, exposure can be transformative. A story, conversation, new idea or visiting volunteer can become the beginning of a new aspiration.

❤️ WHAT THE FACULTY TOOK BACK

The team left Kaksar carrying the smiles, laughter and warmth of the children, along with a deeper appreciation of how these communities live and thrive in extremely difficult terrain—with resilience, simplicity and a strong connection to their surroundings.

These experiences remind us that volunteering is a two-way journey.

We go to give, but we also return having learned.

🌱 LOOKING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

HVT’s vision extends beyond education. Through continued engagement, HVT is exploring opportunities for youth development, skill-building and livelihood training, creating greater exposure and sustainable opportunities for local communities.

The goal is to help young people look beyond geographical boundaries, discover their strengths and imagine possibilities that may have seemed distant before.

For HVT, every remote classroom is a doorway to a larger world.

Volunteer Road Trip 2026 — From Adventure to Family

Volunteer Road Trip 2026 has officially come to an end — and what a journey it was.

From 20 schools and colleges to remote Himalayan communities, we travelled across Ladakh, Zanskar and the Himalayas, learning, sharing, serving and creating memories along the way.

There was serious work, meaningful conversations, endless laughter, crazy masti — and yes, sometimes a little thrashing for doing too much masti!

But somewhere between the long road journeys, remote villages, workshops, meals, jokes and adventures, something beautiful happened.

We stopped being just volunteers. We became a close-knit family.

Thank you to every volunteer who travelled with us, contributed their time, embraced the challenges and made Volunteer Road Trip 2026 unforgettable.

The road trip may be over, but the family continues.
