Baramulla, 8 March 2026:
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Baramulla, in collaboration with Elite Welfare Research Organisation Baramulla, organized an Awareness Programme to highlight the importance of women’s rights, legal awareness, and empowerment.
The programme was graced by Adv. Neelofar Masood, President Bar Association Baramulla, who attended as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the importance of ensuring equal rights, dignity, and access to justice for women in society. She highlighted the role of legal institutions in safeguarding women’s rights and encouraged women to actively seek legal assistance whenever required.
The programme witnessed insightful deliberations from distinguished speakers including Miss Mymoona Ji, SHO Women’s Police Station Baramulla, Adv. Kulsum, Deputy LADC Baramulla, Adv. Ruqaya Fayaz, Assistant LADC Baramulla, Adv. Sufiya, Assistant LADC Baramulla, Aadil Ahad Rather, Adhikar Mitra DLSA Baramulla, and Miss Harleen Kour, Incharge 89.6 FM Radio Baramulla.
The speakers highlighted various legal rights available to women, mechanisms for addressing grievances, and the importance of spreading awareness regarding gender equality and protection laws. The resource persons also encouraged women to come forward and utilize the free legal aid services provided by the Legal Services Authorities.
The programme concluded with an interactive session where participants were informed about legal remedies, government schemes, and institutional support available for women. The initiative aimed to strengthen awareness about women’s rights and promote a more inclusive and just society.
