Every cough deserves attention. Every life deserves protection.

With the aim of promoting early detection, prevention and awareness of Tuberculosis (TB), a Nikshay Shivir was organised at Ward No. 21 of Barpeta Municipal Board.

The camp brought essential TB screening and health services closer to the community, encouraging people to come forward, get screened and take timely action.

From Char to Care: One Mother, Three Miracles

In the remote Alir Pam Char under Mandia BPHC, timely care and determination helped protect four precious lives.

Asmina Khatun, a high-risk mother carrying triplets, was identified through a Boat Health Service outreach camp. With regular monitoring, weekly follow-up, counselling and the dedicated support of ASHA worker Mohela Khatun, her pregnancy was closely tracked.

As delivery approached, she was shifted closer to healthcare facilities. When labour began on 21 August, she was promptly referred to Barpeta Medical College.

On 22 August, she safely delivered three baby girls by Caesarean section.

Fatema Khanam. Saheiba Khanam. Sabia Khanam. Three little lives, given a safe beginning.

One mother. Three daughters. Four lives protected.

A powerful reminder that distance should never stand between a mother and the care she needs.

A meeting of the Hospital Management Committee (HMC) of Barpeta Civil Hospital, Kalgachia was held under the chairmanship of the District Commissioner, Barpeta.

The Hon’ble MLA, Mandia LAC, attended the meeting along with the Joint Director of Health Services, Barpeta, and other concerned officials.

The meeting reviewed various aspects of hospital administration, healthcare service delivery, infrastructure, and patient welfare, with emphasis on further strengthening the overall functioning of the hospital.

A Timely Intervention That Made the Difference!

A 59-year-old man bitten by a cobra on his right leg was brought to Barpeta Road FRU on 03/09/2026.

As early neurotoxic features began to appear, the emergency team promptly initiated Anti-Snake Venom (ASV) along with close monitoring and supportive care.

Following timely ASV administration, the symptoms subsided significantly, and the patient’s condition stabilised. He was kept under close observation for 24 hours and remained clinically stable.

Swift recognition. Timely ASV. Coordinated emergency care.

Kudos to Dr. Shailesh B, Dr. Pradip Rajbongshi, Dr. Mithun Das and Dr. Eliza Yasmin, along with nursing staff Ms. Mridula, Ms. Dhanalakshmi, Ms Momina and Ms. Rubina, for their prompt response and dedicated care.

As directed by the District Commissioner, Barpeta, a convergence meeting between BMCH and Kalgachia BPHC was held at Kalgachia BPHC to strengthen coordination and improve healthcare service delivery.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Rukeiya Begum, HOD, Paediatrics, BMCH; Dr. Kankan Talukdar, O&G, BMCH; Jt. DHS, Barpeta, Dr. Bhupen Chandra Bora; and Assistant Commissioner, Health Branch, Ms. Murchana Malakar, ACS, along with other officials.

The convergence reflects our shared commitment to bringing better, timely and quality healthcare closer to the people. By working together, we can build a stronger and more responsive healthcare system for every family in the community.
