An exposure visit of 34 Class XI students, including 19 girls and 15 boys, from Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education, Salt Lake, was organized at ICAR- Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore on 7 October 2026. The students gained insights into pisciculture, pollution impacts, climate change and emerging career opportunities in fisheries, enhancing their understanding of fisheries science and sustainable aquatic resource management.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮–𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

India and Ghana have taken a significant step towards advancing agricultural research, education and technology transfer with the signing of a five-year MoU between ICAR and CSIR-Crops Research Institute (CSIR-CRI), Ghana.

The partnership will focus on vegetable research, high-yielding tomato varieties, tuber crop processing and value addition, post-harvest management, capacity building and commercialisation of agricultural technologies—strengthening the India–Africa partnership for sustainable agricultural development and improved livelihoods.

The signing ceremony was graced by Dr. S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India, and H.E. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ghana.
