On 27th May, 2004, Somen Debnath set off on a bicycle journey from Basanti (Sundarbans), West Bengal to North-East India, promoting youth awareness, across the‘7 sisters’ states. His India-wide cycling adventure, starting from 2004, included South, West, Central and North India, exploring 28 states and 5 Union Territories. It took almost t
wo and a half years, from 2004 to 2006.Then he travelled to 48 countries in Asia in two phases: 2006 to 2009 & 2023. Later he spent three years, from 2009-2012, roaming Europe and covering 44 countries. During his Great African journey, from 2012 to 2015, he explored 54 countries. His travels spanned 33rd countries in Latin America (2015-2017)& later the Caribbean (2017-2020). After visiting 2 countries in North America and14 countries in Oceania, he returned to Asia. He was invited by an ambassador to visit North Koria but the Covid-19 situation stopped him from going. He returned to India on December 10, 2023, at the People House, Kolkata, and concluded his journey back home in Basanti/ Sonakhali, (Sundarbans) on December 17, 2023. With his return, he ended an epic journey back to his birthplace where his dreams took flight. His journey began and ended with the skies, as a passing flight marked its start and another flight concluded its end.
