নিষিদ্ধ ওষুধের অবৈধ পাচারের বিরুদ্ধে এক বড় সাফল্য অর্জন করে, বিশ্বস্ত গোপন সূত্রের তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে বসিরহাট পুলিশ ৩১ আগস্ট, ২০২৬ তারিখে একটি বিশেষ অভিযান চালায়। এই অভিযান চলাকালীন বসিরহাট পুলিশ সীমানার মধ্যে একটি সন্দেহভাজন গাড়িকে আটক করে পুলিশ।
আটক করা গাড়িটিতে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে বৈধ কোনো নথি বা অনুমতিপত্র ছাড়া নিয়ে যাওয়া আনুমানিক ১,২০০ বোতল উইনসেরেক্স (Wincerex) কাফ সিরাপ সমেত ১০টি কার্টন উদ্ধার করা হয়। ঘটনাস্থল থেকেই নিষিদ্ধ সিরাপের পুরো চালানটি এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট গাড়িটিকে বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে। এই ঘটনায় অভিযুক্তের বিরুদ্ধে এনডিপিএস (NDPS) আইনের নির্দিষ্ট ধারায় একটি মামলা রুজু করা হয়েছে এবং পরবর্তী তদন্ত জারি রয়েছে।

In a significant breakthrough against the illicit trafficking of pharmaceutical contraband, Basirhat Police conducted a targeted raid on August 31, 2026, based on credible intelligence inputs. During the operation, police intercepted a suspicious vehicle within the Basirhat jurisdiction.
A thorough search of the intercepted vehicle led to the recovery of 10 carton boxes containing approximately 1,200 bottles of Wincerex Cough Syrup, carried without any valid permits or documentation. The entire consignment, along with the transport vehicle, was seized on the spot. A specific criminal case has been registered against the accused person(s) under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.

Stranded Basirhat Couple Returns Safely from Flood-Hit Nepal; Welcomed Home by Basirhat Police

In a major relief following the recent natural disaster in Nepal, Shri Anukul Poddar and his wife Smt. Raba Poddar, residents of Basirhat, have safely returned to their home after being caught in the severe flash floods that struck Nepal on August 26, 2026.
Upon their arrival in Basirhat, the couple was warmly received and welcomed by officers of the Basirhat Police District, who ensured their safe transit back to their residence and reunited them with their family.
Throughout the ordeal, the Government of West Bengal and the state police administration maintained active, round-the-clock coordination with relevant authorities to track the couple’s location, ensure their well-being, and facilitate their swift, secure evacuation. Both Shri and Smt. Poddar are reported to be in good health and expressed deep gratitude to the state government and police for their relentless assistance and support.

Basirhat Police District successfully organized the 'Rakhi Bandhan Utsav 2026' on August 28, 2026, bringing together administration, security forces, and the community in a spirit of unity and celebration. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), senior officers from the Border Security Force (BSF), representatives from the District Hospital, alongside teachers and enthusiastic students from various local schools. As rakhis were exchanged, the gathering resonated with a strong message of love, harmony, and mutual cooperation for the welfare, safety, and progress of the citizens.

Basirhat Police District organized a 'Monsoon Kit Distribution' program. To ensure smooth traffic management during the rainy season, Superintendent of Police, Basirhat Police District, Alaknanda Bhowal, IPS, along with other senior police officers distributed the monsoon kits to the traffic police personnel and civic volunteers.

সন্দেশখালি থানার অন্তর্গত কোরাকাটির বাসিন্দা অনিল সরদারের ছেলে সমীর সরদারকে সন্দেশখালি পুলিশ গ্রেপ্তার করেছে।

গোপন সূত্রে পাওয়া তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে, সিভিল ডিফেন্স কর্মী এবং বসিরহাট পুলিশ জেলার এসওজি (SOG) দলের সহায়তায় তার বাড়ি ও সংলগ্ন পুকুরে তল্লাশি অভিযান চালানো হয়।

তল্লাশির সময় ৩টি দেশি আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র এবং ৩২ রাউন্ড গুলি উদ্ধার করা হয়। এ ঘটনায় সন্দেশখালি থানায় অস্ত্র আইনে একটি সুনির্দিষ্ট মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। ঘটনার পরবর্তী তদন্ত চলছে।

Sandeshkhali Police arrested one Samir Sardar, S/O Anil Sardar of Korakati under Sandeshkhali PS.

Based on source information, a search operation was conducted at his house premises and adjoining pond with the assistance of Civil Defence personnel and the SOG team of Basirhat Police District.

During the search, 03 improvised fi****ms and 32 rounds of am******on were recovered. A specific case under the Arms Act has been registered at Sandeshkhali PS in this regard. Further investigation is in progress.

গতকাল রাতে নাকা চেকিং চলাকালীন বসিরহাট পুলিশ জেলার অধীনস্থ বসিরহাট থানা আমতলার কাছে চরকতলায় একটি সন্দেহজনক গাড়ি আটক করে।

গাড়িটি তল্লাশি করে অবৈধভাবে পরিবহন করা বিপুল পরিমাণ কোডিন-ভিত্তিক কফ সিরাপ পাওয়া যায়। মোট ৪,৪৩৮ বোতল Wincerex Cough Syrup (Codeine Phosphate & Triprolidine Hydrochloride) উদ্ধার ও বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে।

এই ঘটনায় একজনকে আটক করা হয় এবং পরবর্তীতে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। বাজেয়াপ্ত মাদকদ্রব্য আইনানুগভাবে হেফাজতে নেওয়া হয়েছে।

এনডিপিএস আইন, ১৯৮৫-এর উপযুক্ত ধারায় একটি নির্দিষ্ট মামলা রুজু করা হয়েছে। পরবর্তী তদন্ত চলছে।

Yesterday night during naka checking, Basirhat Police Station under Basirhat Police District intercepted a suspicious vehicle at Charaktala near Amtala.

On search of the vehicle, a huge quantity of Codeine-based cough syrup being transported illegally was found. A total of 4,438 bottles of Wincerex Cough Syrup (Codeine Phosphate & Triprolidine Hydrochloride) were recovered and seized.

In this connection, one person has been detained and subsequently arrested. The seized contraband has been taken into lawful custody.

A specific case has been registered under appropriate sections of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is in progress.

23.8.26 গতরাত্রে গোপন সূত্রে খবর পেয়ে বসিরহাট পুলিশ জেলার অন্তর্গত হাড়োয়া থানার পুলিশ টিম মাজামপুর এলাকার একটি গোডাউনে অতর্কিত অভিযান চালায়। সেখানে একটি আন্তঃরাজ্য ট্রাকে সরকারি রেশন চাল বেআইনিভাবে লোড করা হচ্ছিল ভিন্ন রাজ্যে পাচারের উদ্দেশ্যে।

খাদ্য ও সরবরাহ দপ্তরের আধিকারিকদের উপস্থিতিতে নথি ও মজুত সামগ্রী খতিয়ে দেখে প্রায় ৬৪০ প্যাকেট চাল (মোট প্রায় ৩২,০০০ কেজি) সহ ট্রাকটি বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়। ঘটনাস্থল থেকেই গোডাউনের মালিক এবং ট্রাকের চালক—উভয়কেই গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে।
এই ঘটনায় হাড়োয়া থানায় নির্দিষ্ট ধারায় মামলা রুজু করা হয়েছে। এই চক্রের সাথে যুক্ত বাকিদের চিহ্নিত করতে তদন্ত চলছে।

In a major breakthrough, Basirhat Cyber Crime Police Station has cracked a case involving the fraudulent swindling of ₹30,72,000/- (Thirty Lakh Seventy-Two Thousand) from a 71-year-old senior citizen of Basirhat under the false pretext of mobile tower installation with lucrative rental promises. Following a complaint lodged on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), the cyber team initiated a swift investigation, leading to the arrest of four key operatives—Rana Sardar, Pallavi Roy, Biswajit Rajbanshi, and Surojit Ghosh—from the Baguiati and Salt Lake areas and recovered some amount of money from them.

Investigation revealed that the accused individuals were directly involved in the cyber fraud operation. Currently, the case remains under active investigation, and all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the victim receives a positive outcome and justice.

মোবাইল টাওয়ার বসিয়ে মোটা অঙ্কের ভাড়া পাইয়ে দেওয়ার লোভ দেখিয়ে বসিরহাটের এক ৭১ বছর বয়সী প্রবীণ নাগরিকের কাছ থেকে মোট ৩০,৭২,০০০/- (ত্রিশ লক্ষ বাহাত্তর হাজার) টাকা হাতিয়ে নেওয়ার ঘটনায় বড়সড় সাফল্য পেল বসিরহাট সাইবার ক্রাইম থানা। জাতীয় সাইবার ক্রাইম রিপোর্টিং পোর্টালে (NCRP) অভিযোগ দায়ের হতেই দ্রুত তদন্তে নামে পুলিশ। সাইবার ক্রাইম মেকানিজমের সূত্র ধরে বাগুইআটি ও সল্টলেক এলাকা থেকে রানা সর্দার, পল্লবী রায়, বিশ্বজিৎ রাজবংশী ও সুরজিৎ ঘোষ নামের চার প্রতারককে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে এবং তাদের থেকে কিছু পরিমাণ টাকা উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।

To commemorate the 80th Independence Day on 15th August, Basirhat Police District organised a series of patriotic initiatives across the district, including flag hoisting on inhabited and uninhabited islands of Sandeshkhali, Hemnagar, Hingalganj and adjoining areas, in coordination with the BSF, Forest Department and Civil Administration.

A special Sit-and-Draw Competition was also organised at Basirhat Town Hall on the theme: 🎨 “Har Ghar Tiranga – Mera Desh, Mera Gaurav” 🇮🇳

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 146 participants, beautifully showcasing the spirit of patriotism through creativity and art.

The programme was graced by the presence of Superintendent of Police, Basirhat Police District, Senior officials of the Police, BSF, Civil Administration etc.

Triumph of Justice: Basirhat Police Secures Imprisonment Till Death in 2018 POCSO Case

The Basirhat Police District has secured a landmark conviction in a 2018 crime against a child. Following the victim’s complaint, police promptly registered the FIR and arrested the accused, Jamsed Ali Mondal. Through meticulous and dedicated investigation led by Investigating Officer SI Utpal Pramanik, a watertight case was presented before the court to ensure prompt legal accountability.
On August 14, 2026, the Learned Special Court under the POCSO Act, Basirhat, found the accused guilty and sentenced Jamsed Ali Mondal to imprisonment for the remainder of his natural life alongside a fine of ₹5,00,000/-. This verdict stands as a testament to the Basirhat Police District’s zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women and children, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to justice through effective investigation and rigorous prosecution.
