Our absence on Social media for all these days, missing posts of school programs, may kindly be not mistaken, as we are glad to announce that Amulya Boondh foundation has taken up the next project in the pipeline( which was halted due to financial constraints).

Rain water harvesting and repairing leaky rooves at a rural Block in Belvatti, is taking shape. We plan to perform pooja in this week itself and begin construction post diwali.

Financial constraints still stand as the primary reason for work at snails pace, hence this time, I haven't waited for some miracle to happen. Instead invested my personal savings also in the NGO( gave me the project prayaas wali feeling that we did in covid 2).

If anyone is interested in charity, other than donating your old clothes, and those who have the time to select what colour saree/kurta to buy for diwali or want to use the opportunity to contribute to the society in some way, consider donation towards the NGO.
The feeling is different when you know that you are the cause for someone else's happiness.

I started off, very small, when I got my section 8 company non profit , registered. Going to the concerned departments and dealing with the procedures in itself was overwhelming.
Luckily I had the support of my father, husband and few other kind souls. Every year after filing returns, I would go to the temple and exclaim to myself,.. this year done right, god knows until when. This exclamation arose out of self doubt. There was nothing, in the 35 years that I had done displaying courage or grit. It was just following others.
After 6 years of incorporation, my posts on social media, directors reports filed and a roller coaster ride, now when I am actually constructing washrooms for girls schools in rural schools( a basic need ignored), i pinch myself regularly to confirm that its not a dream.
Struggling for finances and fundings( due to various factors), I took a bold step of using my savings to begin my first project. It invited a lot of judgements and misunderstandings from many, including fights and cold wars. I still had an unwavering hope that things will fall in place, someday.
Parallelly I took up projects for 2 other schools. The contractor was kind enough to allow me time to pay balance amount.

And last night, just like a dream come true, a school mate( now friend) just like that transfered a big amount which solved 50% of my problems, like the snap of a finger.

From sticking posters and banners on festivals creating awareness about nature conservation to working in the sanitation health sector, nervousness while addressing a gathering to standing on the ISRO platform, writing on social media to speaking at TEDx, it has been a thrilling journey.

At the "youth for seva", volunteer residential camp organised at Sant Meera English Medium School, Chidambarnagar.
Major myths cleared were
1. Plastics dont biodegradable
2. Paper is not ecofriendly
3. Reusable is the new sustainable

Reusable fabric bags ( upcycled from discarded fabric), steel bottles, Bio-enzyme cleaners made from soapnuts ( sponsored by .in) distributed as gifts.

If you aren't an offender then you must not get offended. Dont even pretent to vent out your frustration by arguing on someone else's behalf!

Festivals celebration is a must: but not by westernization and wastefulness.
Entertainment is necessary: but not a priority as the cost of nature
Sports events is also needed: but why plastic poppers needed to celebrate, knowing that some poor lesser privileged person is going to have to clean it?
And about AI, dont even get me started. Forget the amount of water wasted( hell yeah), people are falling for a feature or an addiction which takes away YOURSELF from you, removes your imperfections (virtual and fake) And makes you look perfect( something that nothing and no one is).
Worst is, you call it "me time", "self care", self love, trend, means of enjoyment, to the extent that you have said "what's your problem".

Well, my problem is what we are prioritizing! Knowing that garbage is the biggest problem our country is facing, e waste, textile waste, polluted rivers, loss of green cover: all related to desires, greed and overconsumption. And something that we can take care of at an individual Level easy through segregation and composting, that we dont do, instead argue with people endorsing it!

Selfish selfish selfish US all

Long post alert..

Everyone who knows me tends to have a negative view of me.
I have been advocating for sustainable living and reduced consumption as the most essential concept of our time.

I have inadvertently offended many individuals in high society, who respond with, "to each his own," merely to rationalize and legitimize their excessive spending on personal comfort.

I exist within a system, society, and family that do not fully resonate with my beliefs. Still, I continue to strive towards that goal.

They question how the economy can thrive if one does not spend on material goods.
Who said I don’t spend? Just yesterday, I invested in boulders, cement, bricks, sand, rented a backhoe loader, paid for labor, paint, and various construction materials to build toilets for a school. (A fundamental necessity that should take precedence over wasteful expenditures but unfortunately does not).

I attempted to organize a fundraiser, but once again, I failed miserably, echoing the sentiment of "to each his own." People preferred to spend on nine days of colorful sarees rather than contribute to a social cause.

No, this is not a fundraiser. I managed to gather funds (how, you might wonder). I take pride in not being a hoarder, not being selfish or greedy, and I aim to convey to everyone with noble intentions that even a single individual can create an impact.
Do not give up trying!

As Major Indian festivals approach, we will soon see influencers promoting brands that specialize in corporate gifting. Various types of plastic will be purchased, and gifts will circulate from one household to another. Often, when we give a gift, we don't invest much emotion into it; it feels more like a task that needs to be completed, simply because it's a common practice or a ritual in India.

Recently, we have observed a shift from sharing homemade sweets like Laddoos to Baklava. Nowadays, we hardly make even the basic besan ke laddoo; everything is bought from stores, packaged in plastic.

On one hand, we lament the increasing garbage issue. We share videos highlighting man-made disasters and calamities, yet on the other hand, we resist making even the smallest changes in our daily lives.

Project Aamhi, an NGO, employs women from underprivileged backgrounds to collect discarded fabric, particularly from marine areas, sanitize and wash it, and then transform it into beautiful potly bags.

These bags are crafted from various scraps of fabric. The unique imperfections and irregularities in the bags contribute to their beauty, teaching us that life is about embracing our flaws rather than striving for perfection.

This time, consider trying something different. Corporate gifting can also involve giving upcycled products, which may help alleviate some of your guilt for contributing a little less harm to Mother Earth.

Chetan Singh Solanki, an IIT Bombay professor and energy science and engineering expert, is a prominent advocate for sustainable energy. He's known as the “Solar Man of India” and “Solar Gandhi” for his efforts to promote solar energy and energy independence. In 2020, he took an 11-year leave from IIT Bombay to travel across India in a solar-powered bus on his Energy Swaraj Yatra (Energy Independence Journey).

Sadly, such hardworking people are not all that famous. Niether does he endorse brands, nor he does GRWM session, nor he shakes a leg to trending music on Instagram. I dont think he has any idea about gibili or Gemini too.

Its super sad to see bollywood actors have followers in millions, those that endorse unsustainable living( leather fashion, fash fashion, inorganic plastic clothes, animal product make up) But people like these that wear a torn sock just to prove that mother nature cant afford anymore, are hardly known to poeple!

We choose our idols wrong these days. Indians making money through a sport leave the nation that has given them everything are preferred over these ones who have only lived with a motive to conserve nature.
Simplicity is no more in fashion, these days.
