Millions of young graduates come out every year from Academic and technical institutions, But mostly these youngsters irrespective of their sources of educations are not in a position to readily step in to job positions available in the industries. The Institutions both under Government and Private sectors compete with each other and churn out large number of graduates with academic degrees and di

plomas. These degrees and diplomas cover only basic principles of the subject. The multidisciplinary character and applied engineering skills required for the industries is not reflected in the curricula and therefore, the industry specific skills require to be supplemented with applied engineering skills by other Institutions like the one being established as IPET (Institute of Power Engineers Training). It is a known and established fact all over the world that while technologies and equipments can be imported, the skilled manpower required has to be developed locally. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the industries to train and develop the human resources in order to groom them to tackle the technologies and equipments deployed in their industries. Considering the size of the industries, it would not be possible for any single industry to assume such responsibility.
