On 29 August 2026, Collector & District Magistrate, Koraput, Shri Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, IAS, accompanied by the CDO-cum-Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Koraput; BDO, Dasmantpur; and officials from various government departments, visited Kauguda village and interacted with Maa Patakhanda PG members on potato seed production, field development and plans for establishing a Horticulture Hub in the village.

The visit continued at Rajuguda village, where he interacted with Maa Patajhankar PG members regarding the 30+2 Goatery Model and its insurance coverage. With technical facilitation from APC partner CYSD, discussions were also held on expanding the model to other villages.

From orchards in Bandhugaon to the market, women farmers are giving custard apple a stronger market presence. In Bandhugaon Block of Koraput district, harvesting began in the first week of August, with two Producer Groups (PGs), supported by the Department of Mission Shakti, taking up collective marketing under the Agriculture Production Cluster (APC) Programme.

Facilitated by APC partner Vikash, the PGs have collectively marketed 207.5 quintals of custard apples, generating ₹4.15 lakh in sales so far this season. By aggregating their harvest and marketing collectively, women farmers are strengthening market linkages and securing better returns from their custard apple harvest.

From the soil of Koraput, women farmers are giving ginger a wider place in the local economy. Over the last month, Producer Groups across Nandapur and Lamtaput blocks, under Koraput Nari Shakti Farmers Producer Company Limited (KNSFPCL), supported by the Department of Mission Shakti, have marketed 59.521 MT of ginger so far, involving farmers and generating ₹72.21 lakh in sales.

With technical support from APC partner PRADAN, women farmers are bringing their harvest together, connecting with buyers and taking greater decisions around their produce. KNSFPCL has recorded a turnover of ₹92.84 lakh in FY 2026–27 so far. Their efforts are helping turn ginger cultivation into a more rewarding source of income for women farmers.

From cultivating diverse vegetables to reaching markets collectively, Rajlaxmi PG and Subhadra PG, supported by the Department of Mission Shakti, are strengthening market engagement under the APC Programme in Jharigaon Block, Nabarangpur district.

With support from the APC partner, The Human Development, Rajlaxmi PG has marketed chilli, brinjal, runner beans and beans worth ₹12.89 lakh, while Subhadra PG has marketed chilli, brinjal, runner beans, cauliflower, cowpea and beans worth ₹4.22 lakh over the last three months. Collective marketing is helping the PGs access markets more effectively and get better prices for their harvest.

In Kalyansingpur Block of Rayagada district, women Producer Group farmers are taking their fresh, tasty custard apples to the market under the Agriculture Production Cluster (APC) Programme. Their produce is aggregated and marketed through Maa Sitalama Farmer Producer Company Ltd., supported by the Department of Mission Shakti.

Facilitated by Harsha Trust, the initiative is helping women farmers move beyond local sales and access better prices for their custard apples, improving returns from their produce.

The brinjal harvesting season is now progressing in Jamda Block of Mayurbhanj district, with women farmers of Jhansirani PG, supported by the Department of Mission Shakti, bringing together their first lot of 8 quintals of brinjal for market linkage.

Facilitated by APC partner Vikash, the effort is supporting women farmers to aggregate their harvest and connect with the market. This marks the beginning of the brinjal marketing season, with more produce expected to follow as harvesting progresses.
