Odisha Showcases Chemicals & Petrochemicals Investment Potential at Global CEO Roundtable
Odisha strengthened its position as a competitive destination for chemicals, petrochemicals and allied manufacturing at the Global CEO Roundtable on India’s Chemicals Sector: Charting the Path to USD 1 Trillion by 2040, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Chaired by Shri J. P. Nadda, Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, in the presence of Smt. Anupriya Patel, Hon’ble Union Minister of State, the roundtable brought together CXO-level delegates from 30+ leading global and Indian chemical companies.
Representing Odisha, Shri Hemant Sharma, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, highlighted the State’s port-led industrial ecosystem, long coastline, major ports, large industrial land parcels, feedstock availability and dependable utilities, along with its vision for downstream value addition and employment generation.
Key investment destinations include the PCPIR at Paradip, anchored by IOCL’s refinery and petrochemicals complex; the port-based industrial complex at Dhamra; and industrial areas adjoining Gopalpur Port with blanket Environmental Clearances, enabling early grounding of red and orange category industries.
On the sidelines, the Odisha delegation held focused discussions with prospective investors exploring projects in titanium pigments, adhesives, BOPP films and fertilizers, covering suitable locations, infrastructure, utilities, incentives and facilitation support.
With chemicals, petrochemicals and technical textiles as thrust sectors under Odisha’s Industrial Policy Resolution 2022 and eligible for the highest bracket of incentives, Odisha continues to strengthen downstream and ancillary value chains, attract investments and create employment opportunities.
