*SECL Director (Technical/Operations) Reviews Coal Evacuation Operations at Gevra OCP*

On 05 August 2026, Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical/Operations), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), visited *Gevra Opencast Project* to review mining operations and coal evacuation arrangements.

During the visit, Shri Jayakumar inspected the Coal Handling Plant (CHP) and SILO circuit, which plays a crucial role in the mechanized evacuation of coal through the First Mile Connectivity (FMC) system. He reviewed the operational performance of the CHP-SILO complex and assessed the efficiency of coal handling, loading and dispatch operations.

The Director also held detailed discussions with the project officials on measures to further enhance operational efficiency, improve equipment reliability and ensure uninterrupted coal evacuation. Stressing the importance of maximizing utilization of the mechanized coal handling infrastructure, he called upon the project team to maintain high standards of operational discipline and preventive maintenance to achieve sustained productivity.

He emphasized the need for seamless coordination among all concerned departments to ensure safe, efficient and timely coal dispatch while adhering to safety and environmental norms.

Senior officials of SECL and Gevra Area accompanied the Director during the inspection.
