Today, Hon’ble MLA of Biswanath LAC, Sri Pallab Lochan Das, chaired a review meeting on the implementation of various schemes under Women & Child Development Department which includes Mission Shakti, Poshan 2.0, and operationalisation of Anganwadi Centres, at the DC Conference Hall, Biswanath.
The meeting was attended by Sri Lakhinandan Saharia, ACS, District Commissioner, Smti Kabita Kakati Konwar, ACS, Additional District Commissioner, Branch Officer and officials of the Women & Child Development Department. The progress, achievements, and effective implementation of various welfare schemes were reviewed and discussed.

In the training program, Smti Amrit Prava Das, ACS, ADC cm District Census Officer, Biswanath, Sri Aditya Pratap Singh, IAS, Co-DC cm Co-District Census Officer, Gohpur, Sri Diksh*t Das, ACS, Asstt Commissioner cm Addl District Census Officer, Charge Census Officers, Addl Charge Census Officers and other officials were also present in the training program.

The “Governor Assam Kishori Samman Sankalp” Programme was held today on 2nd June, 2026 at Chariali Adarsha Vidyapeeth, Biswanath Chariali. Awareness sessions on Child Marriage, Menstrual Hygiene, Digital Literacy and Cyber Safety were conducted in the programme. Prizes were also distributed in the programme among students for Essay Competition and Extempore Speech on Women Empowerment.

Today on 2nd June, 2026, a Career Counseling cm Vocational Guidance Program was successfully organised at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya, Behali targeting dropout girls of Class IX-XII. The programme was organised by Employment Exchange Biswanath, in collaboration with Biswanath District Administration, ITI Biswanath and District Child Protection Unit, Biswanath.

The event was inaugurated by Smti Krisnarpita Baruah, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Biswanath. The Assistant Commissioner made a birds eye view of the overall functioning of the school and gave effective guidance.
