UGC NET RESULT 2018 ANNOUNCED

New Delhi: The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday declared UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) results, the test for which was conducted on July 8 across 91 cities in the country.

According to a statement issued by the CBSE, a total of 11,48,235 candidates had registered for the examination, out of whom over 85,000 appeared and 55,872 qualified to be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor

A total of 3,929 candidates emerged eligible to apply for both Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. The examination was conducted in 84 subjects.

There was a change this time in the number of papers, where instead of three there were only two papers.

As per the University Grants Commission (UGC) policy, six per cent of those who appear in both papers and obtain minimum qualification marks in both papers’ aggregate are declared NET qualified. (IANS)

Mirwaiz asks cadres to be ready for mass agitation if Article 35-A tinkered with

Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday asked his cadres and activists be ready for all out mass agitation if Article 35-A will be touched.
Taking to Twitter, Mirwaiz said no attempt will be tolerated to change the disputed nature and demographic character of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Meeting of (took place) at Rajbagh (office of the amalgam), regarding 35A. Any attempt to change demographic character of J&K and its disputed nature intolerable! (I) asked cadres and activists to be ready for all out mass agitation if any tinkering with 35A allowed,” Mirwaiz wrote on his Twitter handle soon after a meeting held at amalgam’s Rajbagh office.

The Supreme Court of India will on August 6 hear the petitions challenging the validity of Article 35-A which defines the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Mirwaiz also urged New Delhi to respond positively to PTI chief and Pakistan prime minister elect Imran Khan's call for dialogue on Kashmir.

“The meeting welcomed the recent statement of PTI chief Imran Khan calling for dialogue on . We urge Govt of India to respond positively to this offer and start a meaningful dialogue with Pakistan and people of Kashmir to end hostilities and give peace a real chance,” Mirwaiz said.
