Polytechnic, Burhanpur has been established looking into the potential and the zeal for Technical Education among the womens of NIMAR region. The Institution, Initially, started with only one branch of Commercial Practice in 1988-89. And the other branch Modern Office Management (replacing Commercial Practice), Electronics and Telecommunication, Costume Design and Dress making were started in 1995

-96 Costume Design and Dress making is replaced with Fashion Technology in 2006-07.With the high Demand of Information technology new branch Information Technology was started in the year 2000. In the year 2006 it was replaced by Computer Science & Engineering. In the year 2009 there are two branches Civil & Mechenical was started. In the year 2011 on July New Branch Travel & Tourism will be started.
