Our museum's 'Key Man' who always responds to ''chaabi kahan hai" and almost always responds to his own name Kuldeep, has been working at museums across Chandigarh for 16 years now, since 2010. He is one of GMAG's most important pillars, without whom a void can be felt on a regular day.

Find him in the grill area at the back or working very hard in the reserve collection, sorting drawers and assisting researchers with their work!

Introducing our Tagore Fellow for 2025-2027, Dr Sarang Sharma who will be working on the museum's Pahari Art collection and on his chosen title for the fellowship which concerns a 'paleographic examination of Takri Inscriptions in Pahari Paintings and their cultural significance in the historical reconstruction of Himachal Pradesh'.

A testament to his specialized skill and knowledge, Slide-4 is a fine example of where, while most of us would find ourselves admiring the paintings on the scroll, Dr Sharma's gaze is fixated on the singular line of takri writing that occurs on most paintings from the Pahari region.

He will be visiting the museum and studying these paintings. Can you recognise a few masterpieces from the images here?
