Police teams have continued its drive against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” for 522nd day. Following the arrest of the drug smugglers the teams recovered 12 kg he**in, 301 grams o***m, 9.2 kg poppy husk, 1114 intoxicant pills and Rs 41,700 drug money from their possession. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 75,441 in 522 days. As part of De-addiction, the Punjab Police has convinced 16 persons to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.

As the decisive ‘Gangsteran Te Vaar’ campaign enters its 197th day, Punjab Police conducted 652 raids at identified and mapped locations linked to associates of gangsters across the state. On Day 197, Police teams arrested individuals with three weapons, taking the total arrests to 56,909 since the launch of the campaign. Apart from this, Police teams have also arrested 11 Proclaimed Offenders (POs) during the operation.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Cabinet took a series of landmark decisions aimed at strengthening education, improving governance and public service delivery, and promoting inclusive development across the state. The Cabinet passed the Punjab Regulation of Fee of Un-aided Educational Institutions (Amendment) Bill, 2026 to regulate unnecessary and unreasonable fee hikes by private un-aided educational institutions, besides approving the Punjab State Outsourced Personnel Transition to Contractual Engagement Bill, 2026, establishment of three new Digital Open Universities and several other key policy initiatives. A decision to this effect was taken by the Council of Ministers in a meeting at Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reiterated the firm commitment of his government to ensure the holistic development of the Kandi and Border areas of the state. Chairing a meeting of the Border and Kandi Area Development Board, the Chief Minister directed officers to make concerted efforts to promote tourism in the Kandi region and accelerate the overall development of these areas. Calling for focused efforts to promote tourism in the Kandi region, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Kandi area has immense potential to emerge as an ideal tourist destination, attracting visitors from across the globe and the state government is making all out efforts to further develop this region and harness its vast tourism potential. No stone is being left unturned to develop the region and modernise its infrastructure.

The Punjab Vidhan Sabha has passed a resolution on this issue and is sending it to the Central Government to protect the interests of the common people.

Strict action is being taken against drug traffickers under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann–led Punjab Government's 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' campaign. As part of this ongoing drive, a major operation was carried out by the administration in Shiv Colony, Badmajra, SAS Nagar, against drug traffickers and the illegal structures constructed by them were demolished.

ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ 16ਵੀਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ 13ਵੇਂ ਇਜਲਾਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 19 ਟੋਲ ਪਲਾਜ਼ੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਫ਼ੈਸਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਬੱਚਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਜਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਰਾਹਤ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ।
