What if the person who could save a life was simply the person standing closest?

Emergencies rarely come with a warning. In those critical first few minutes, knowing what to do—and having the confidence to act—can make a meaningful difference.

That is the idea behind Project Basic Life Support (BLS), an initiative by Chandigarh Citizens Foundation (CCF) in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh, with the support of Red Cross Haryana.

The project aims to empower citizens with practical, essential life-saving skills and prepare them to respond effectively during emergencies.

The training will cover:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Hands-Only CPR

• AED Awareness

• Emergency Response

This is more than a training initiative. It is a step towards creating prepared, confident and responsive communities—where ordinary citizens have the knowledge and skills to take meaningful action when help is needed most.

Because in an emergency, the first responder may simply be the person who is already there.

8,500+ students. 16 films. 4 days. One unforgettable learning experience. 🎬

The ‘Cinematic Lens: Learning Through Light, Sound & Action’ Children’s Film Festival concluded on a high note, leaving behind countless smiles, meaningful conversations, and inspiring stories.

Organised by Chandigarh Citizens Foundation (CCF) in collaboration with S**C MACAY, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, and Dass & Brown Experiential Learning School, Panchkula, the festival brought together over 8,500 students from government and private schools across the Tricity through 16 engaging film screenings.

This video captures the essence of the festival—from the excitement inside the theatres to the reflections shared by students and educators. Their experiences remind us that cinema has the power to spark curiosity, encourage empathy, and make learning truly memorable.

As highlighted in the media, this initiative reflects the vision of NEP 2020, promoting experiential learning and creating opportunities for young minds to learn beyond the classroom.

Thank you to every school, educator, volunteer, partner, and student who made this celebration of learning possible. Here’s to many more stories that educate, inspire, and bring communities together.

Some stories don’t celebrate victory. They celebrate humanity.

What if a mother’s voice could achieve what weapons couldn’t?

Operation Maa is the remarkable story of an initiative that chose compassion over conflict and hope over hatred.

Launched in 2019 by the Indian Army’s XV Corps (Chinar Corps) under the leadership of *Lt. Gen. K.J.S. Dhillon*, this initiative encouraged mothers to reach out to their sons who had been drawn towards terrorism. Instead of being labelled as a “surrender”, these young men were given the dignity of simply returning home.

In several encounters, operations were paused to give trapped local militants one final chance to speak to their mothers through loudspeakers or mobile phones. For many, that conversation became the turning point that saved a life.

Those who chose to return were not met with punishment alone—they were supported with rehabilitation, guidance, and opportunities to rebuild their future.

Join us for a special screening of this powerful documentary that reminds us that courage isn’t always found on the battlefield. Sometimes, it’s found in choosing humanity.
