Our naturalists are all at our lovely Tadoba for a month long training and up-skilling.

Manjula Desai, our in-house naturalist is a passionate bird and wildlife photographer who has travelled over 35 countries in search of nature and its bounty. With being certified in wildlife and bird surveys, she has also taken part in specific birding trips to Faroe Islands and various other European countries. Avid curator of wildlife knowledge brings her experience in the travel industry to becoming a Naturalist.

The stork-billed kingfisher is a tree kingfisher that is widely but sparsely distributed in the tropical Indian subcontinent. Tadoba is home to these surprisingly large kingfishers that could be about 35 cm long.

Tigers make dedicated mothers. We have the immense pleasure of witnessing many such bonding in the Kolsa Zone accessed by Zari gate of Tadoba Tiger Reserve. Seen here is a mother with 3 cubs. With so many mouths, and hungry ones too to feed, the mother is always active and hunting. As wildlife enthusiasts,, this gives us a rather high probability window of seeing a tiger in action. Hunting is more often than when tigers are alone. Family brings with it greater demand, even for the queens of jungles!

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve or TATR as it has come to renown completely deserves all the limelight it gets. Excellent work done by all the organizations active here and Forest Department has led to a steady increase and the survival of tigers. We at Red Earth Tadoba are fortunate and thrilled to be closer to the Zari Gate and Kolsa zone where a proud mother is overseeing the growth of 3 wonderful cubs.
