A BJP delegation from โ€™s three autonomous district councils has urged the Centre to expedite the passage of the 125th Constitution , 2019, which has remained pending in Parliament for several years, the party said in a statement on Saturday, August 8.

The delegation met Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai in New Delhi on Friday and sought early action on the proposed legislation concerning the Lai, Mara and Chakma Autonomous District Councils in southern Mizoram.

The announcement has been welcomed with great enthusiasm by the people of Borapansury and the surrounding villages. Residents, Village Councils, Young Chakma Association (YCA), Mizoram Chakma Students' Union (MCSU) and Chakma Mahila Samiti (CMS) among others, have come together to clean the hospital premises and improve the campus in preparation for the doctor's joining.

Borapansury PHC had remained largely non-functional for several years following the termination of its previous health staff, leaving the local population without regular primary healthcare services. The posting of a new doctor is therefore being viewed as a significant step towards restoring essential medical services in the area.ย
