The Secretary, CAA, Shri. K.C. Devasenapathi, IAS attended the valedictory function of Consultative Workshop on Ecosystem Approach to Aquaculture (EAA) in Shrimp Farming as a Chief Guest on 15th July 2026 at ICAR-CIBA organized by BOBP-IGO and delivered a keynote address on "Strengthening Policy Framework for Mainstreaming EAA in India." Deepak A.P., Consultant (Technical), CAA delivered a presentation on "Legal Provisions of Shrimp Farming in the Context of the Coastal Aquaculture Authority ". The workshop provided a valuable platform for collaboration among policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to promote sustainable, resilient, and environmentally responsible aquaculture practices.

The Coastal Aquaculture Authority conducted an online presentation as part of the National Fish Farmers Day celebrations organized by the Department of Fisheries in Goa on 09.07.2026. During the event, Smt. G. Priya, Assistant Director (Technical), CAA and Shri Shijo Mathew, Consultant Technical, CAA elaborated on the Authority's functions, the provisions of the CAA Act of 2005, its associated Rules and Guidelines, and the process for online registration of coastal aquaculture farms via the NSWS portal. Officials of the Department of Fisheries, Goa, farmers, various stakeholders in the aquaculture sector and other technical officers from the CAA participated in the programme.

The Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA) continued to receive an overwhelming response on the second day (2nd July, 2026) of Seafood Expo Bharat 2026 at the Chennai Trade Centre.
The CAA stall attracted a large number of visitors, including aquaculture farmers, entrepreneurs, exporters, researchers, students, industry representatives, and government officials. Visitors actively interacted with CAA officials to learn about the Authority's regulatory framework, registration procedures, digital initiatives, farmer-centric services, and ongoing reforms aimed at promoting sustainable and responsible coastal aquaculture.
The stall served as an effective platform for knowledge sharing, addressing stakeholders' queries, and creating awareness about environmentally responsible aquaculture practices. Informative publications and guidance on compliance, best management practices, and quality standards were well received by visitors.

The Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA) proudly participated in Seafood Expo Bharat 2026, one of India's premier seafood and aquaculture exhibitions, held at the Chennai Trade Centre from 1–3 July 2026. The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, exporters, entrepreneurs, and aquaculture stakeholders from across the country to showcase innovations and strengthen India's seafood sector.
At the CAA stall, visitors explored the Authority's initiatives to promote responsible, sustainable, and environmentally compliant coastal aquaculture. The exhibition served as an excellent platform to engage with stakeholders, raise awareness about the regulatory framework, exchange knowledge, and encourage best management practices for the sustainable growth of India's aquaculture sector.
A special highlight of the event was the Quiz Competition held on 1 July 2026, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 106 members, reflecting the growing interest and awareness among stakeholders.

The Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA), in collaboration with the ICAR–Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA), organized the National Workshop on “Aquaculture Land Use Planning: Gaps, Challenges and Way Forward” at ICAR–CIBA, Chennai, on 29.06.2026.
The workshop was chaired by Mr. K. C. Devasenapathi IAS, Secretary, CAA and it was attended by Ms. Chelsasini V., IAS, Director of Fisheries, Kerala; Director, Bay of Bengal Programme; Fisheries Development Commissioner, Government of India; Dr. A. The Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAR - Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA), Chennai during the ‘National Workshop on Aquaculture Land Use Planning: Gaps, Challenges and Way Forward’ held at ICAR-CIBA, Chennai on 29.06.2026 for Promotion farming systems and technologies through digital media, capacity building and awareness to aquaculture farmers. This MoU aims to establish a knowledge partnership and technical collaboration between the Parties for promoting scientific farming systems and technologies through digital media, digital advisory services, capacity-building initiatives, awareness programmes, conferences, technical sessions, and industry outreach activities for the benefit of aquaculture farmers and other stakeholders.

The Coastal Aquaculture Authority, in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Government of Kerala has organized a training programme for the Member Conveners of the SDLCs and DLCs and other Fisheries Officials in Kerala State on the 'Online registration of coastal aquaculture farms through NSWS portal. The Additional Director of Fisheries, Kerala Smt. Smitha R. Nair was the chief guest and inaugurated the programme. Senior Technical Assistant, CAA, Shri S. Ramesh Kumar and Consultant (Technical) II, CAA, Shri Shijo Mathew conducted the training and clarified on the queries regarding online registration process and other aspects of the CAA Act, 2005, it Rules and Guidelines. 65 officials attended the training physically while more than 70 officials attended online.
