The report of Synchronised Elephant Population Estimation 2023 for TN was released today. The estimated population of 🐘in TN is 2961 ⬆️

2099 personnel including 368 volunteers covering 690 blocks carried out the survey across TN & borders in May 2023

Update on Arikomban (16.6.23)
Field Director KMTR has given a press release on the present status of Arikomban. It states that he is comfortable in the new habitat. Camera traps are placed at the reservoirs. Based on tracking, Arikomban is foraging in swamps of Muthukuzhivayal.
