Drishtee is a social enterprise focused on Rural India and its entrepreneurs through whom it reaches out to the marginalized communities. It creates sustainable models that enables in generating livelihoods and costs savings for the rural citizen. Since Drishtee’s inception in 2000, it has had several successes and failures , learning’s from over the years has resulted in the evolution of an integrated 4C support for Community building, Capacity development, Channel and Capital enablement.

A few days back, 50 students walked into the Abhigyan training centre.
Different colleges. Different cities. Different fields. Some had never set foot in a village. But they came with one thing in common.
A hope to see the world differently.

What happened over the next 21 days changed many perspectives.
Some discussions refused to end; field visits that made everything made them pause. Moments of doubt. Moments of clarity. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, 50 strangers changed their lenses.
Today they step into a world filled with hope, perseverance, and resilience.
Not with all the answers. But with the hope to shift things in rural India.

Just with 21 days of honest preparation and the willingness to sit with a community long enough to actually understand it.
The training is done, and now the Villages wait.

Sixteen years of tailoring.
Four women. One workspace.
A community that recognises them.
And now, the Mahima Vaibhavi Group from Vatika Lakhiganj, Dhubri, Assam has taken the next step.
They are not just building their own enterprise. But, helping to build for many such women entrepreneurs.
As a Sakhya under Drishtee's Swavlamban programme, they now guide, train, and walk beside aspiring women entrepreneurs in textile production, sharing sixteen years of knowledge that no classroom could teach.

They are one of 16 Sakhyas active across Assam, Bhagalpur, and Varanasi.

Eight years of mushroom farming. Thousands of bags were produced. Markets mapped. Livelihoods built.
And then, Santanu Deuri of Katahguri village, Morigaon district, Assam, made a decision.
To bring all of that back to his community.
As a Mushroom Sakhya under Drishtee’s Swavlamban programme, Santanu now supports aspiring entrepreneurs with the practical knowledge, production experience, and market understanding that only comes from years of doing the work yourself.
Santanu is one of 16 Sakhyas who are currently working across Assam, Bhagalpur, and Varanasi, each one an experienced entrepreneur who has chosen to bring their knowledge back to their community.
Because the most powerful kind of mentorship is not taught. It is shared between people who know the same soil.

Drishtee at BC Manthan 2026.

A proud moment for us.
Drishtee participated in the National Seminar on Financial Inclusion, "Way Forward: Role of Business Correspondents," organised by BCRC in Puri, Odisha, alongside senior officials from DFS, NABARD, SBI, and Public Sector Banks, as well as key stakeholders shaping the future of financial inclusion in India.
As a founding member of BCRC, we at Drishtee see being part of this national conversation as more than participation. It is a reflection of a commitment we made at the very beginning: that rural communities deserve the same access to financial services as everyone else.

Our leadership joined Panel Discussion III on deepening financial inclusion through the BC ecosystem, contributing to discussions on last-mile banking, technology, and the long-term sustainability of BC operations.

The work began in the villages. The conversation continues at the national level. And the two will always remain connected.
