GENERAL MEETING

1. Opening
The General Meeting commenced at 10:30 AM, presided over by Bhante Pema. The session was chaired by Mr. Alok Ranjan Barua (President), and recorded by Mr. Sonam Lepcha (Secretary).

2. Introduction of New Members
The following six young members were formally introduced and welcomed:

Mr. Passang Sherpa
Mr. Bharat Sharma
Mr. Kiran Mainali
Mr. Nayan Tamang
Mr. Finjo Sherpa
Mr. Sonam Lepcha

3. Address by Former Secretary
Mr. Nima Gyamtsho Sherpa, former Secretary of the chapter, shared a summary of the achievements and highlights from previous years. He emphasized the social engagement and community service efforts carried out under the chapter’s banner.

4. Discussion on Future Projects
Mr. Sonam Lepcha, Secretary, outlined ideas for upcoming initiatives:

Establishment of a Sunday Buddhist School for youth spiritual education.

Initiating a small business venture to support BLIA Darjeeling’s social activities and ensure financial sustainability.

The former secretary also shared details about training programs for Kripasaran students focused on making and producing paper bags as a skill development and eco-friendly livelihood initiative.

5. Conclusion
The meeting concluded with mutual agreement to pursue the proposed initiatives. Members expressed appreciation for the energy and commitment of both the outgoing and incoming committee members.
