Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance It aims at the fast-tracking implementation of SDGs in the state.

Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPPGG) anchored in the Department of Planning is a think tank to support the Government of Uttarakhand in governance and policy reforms. CPPGG was formed in 2017 to act as a think tank to support the Government of Uttarakhand to identify bottlenecks of the State’s growth trajectory and develop a roadmap for holistic and sustainable development. The cen

tre aims to accelerate the sustainable growth of the state through action research and analytics for better planning and policy framework. It is registered as an autonomous body under the Societies Act 1860, with a governing council headed by Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, secretaries and has experts from various prestigious institutions as members. CPPGG is equipped with sector specialists engaged in providing policy and planning level support to various state departments on areas of livelihood, climate change, training and capacity building, MIS (Management Information System), M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation), and disaster preparedness. The Centre believes in following the C2NP – Convergence, Coordination, Networking, and Partnership approach for accelerating the state’s growth. Our Focus areas include
 Review policies and suggest upgradations to boost the State’s economic growth
 Promote sustainable technology-based solutions for both identified and potential growth drivers
 Strengthen data ecosystem of key departments through disaggregation, triangulation and enhancing data literacy
 Leverage Sustainable Development Goals by effective Localization and integration in all levels of governmental planning
 Serve as a hub for knowledge management, capacity building, and sharing best practices

The Centre for Public Policy & Good Governance (CPPGG) has been honoured with the SKOCH Award 2025 under the Planning category for its work on “Efforts to Accelerate Balancing Economy and Ecology along with the SDGs.”

This recognition reaffirms CPPGG’s commitment to strengthening evidence-based policymaking and advancing a development approach that harmonises economic growth with ecological sustainability. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), in collaboration with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and with technical support from UNDP in India, hosted a two-day "Capacity Building Workshop on Monitoring Frameworks for Sustainable Development Goals, Compilation of Environment Accounts, and Gender Statistics" in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

The first day of the event was dedicated to discussing the SDGs. Stakeholder Ministries presented insights on various aspects of the SDGs, including how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) may be aligned with them. The second day of the course is dedicated to the environment, gender, and other vital topics.

Dr. Manoj Pant, Director SETU Aayog/Planning, ACEO-CPPGG, presented SDG monitoring mechanisms of Uttarakhand as a best practice. Further, Dr. Pant presented methodology, outcome of the study on Forest Resource Accounting, and the Sustainable Environmental Performance Index.

Mr. Mohit Chaudhary, Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD), Uttarakhand, and Mr. Shailendra Kumar, Monitoring and Evaluation Expert, CPPGG also attended the program.

This year, we added another category in the awards - "SDG Achievers - Corporates" to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding contributions of corporates in advancing the SDGs through their (CSR) initiatives.

We aim to highlight exemplary practices/ projects to accelerate progress towards the .

Celebrating work of Creative Attempts in Rural Development Society (CARD)

CARD works to prevent human trafficking, gender discrimination, and violence. They provide education and rehabilitation through the Ujjwala Punarwas Center. With 385 registered cases in 5 years, they've successfully rehabilitated 376 individuals, primarily addressing human trafficking issues along the Indo-Nepal border in Pithoragarh district.

Uttarakhand 2022

Celebrating work of Foundation which ensures healthcare access in 80+ villages in Nainital & Almora. Along with Aarohi Arogya Kendra and Amrit Clinic, they run a Mobile Medical Unit equipped with essential facilities.

In over 101 camps, they've aided 3718 patients, conducted 2758 OPD visits, and completed 66 IPD cases.
