Regional Workshop on Born-Accessible Content Creation

NIEPVD, in collaboration with Accessibility Research Centre, IIT Madras, organized a regional workshop on 21 August 2026 at Mahatma Hall, 356, Second Floor, HSS Dept, IIT Madras Campus.

The programme was inaugurated by the Director, IIT Madras.

Regional Capacity-Building Workshop on Born-Accessible Content Creation

NIEPVD & Accessibility Research Centre (ARC), IIT Madras successfully conducted a regional workshop on 22nd August 2026 at Room 337, HSS Dept, IIT Madras.

The Art of Seeing Differently 📸

In a landmark initiative for inclusive visual arts, Accessibility Research Centre, IIT Madras organised a unique blind photography exhibition in collaboration with NIEPVD.

Towards a More Inclusive Digital Learning Future!

The राष्ट्रीय दृष्टि दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण संस्थान (NIEPVD), Dehradun, in collaboration with the Accessibility Research Centre, IIT Madras, is organising a Southern Zonal Meeting-Cum-Workshop on “Born Accessible Digital Production" focusing on AI Integration & Digital Accessibility in Learning Materials.

📅 21–22 August 2026
📍 IIT Madras, Chennai

The initiative aims to promote the creation of “Born Accessible” digital textbooks —learning materials designed with accessibility built in from the very beginning, rather than being made accessible later.

Key Focus Areas:

• Sensitisation on inclusive digital education
• Strategic importance of Born-Accessible textbook production
• AI integration in textbook production workflows
• Semantic structuring and accessible digital formatting
• Building technical capacity for accessible learning materials

👥 The programme is designed for nominated officials, SCERT faculty, textbook production teams and technical staff from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
