Aim of the project --
3 months certificate course on Elderly care.
The project aims to capacitate volunteer caregivers with knowledge on elderly care. This will help to improve home care services provided to the community.
The caregivers assist in identification, referral and monitoring of clients through adherence education and monitoring. They are also responsible for coordinating support groups at community level.
Trainings - Lectures from facilitators
- Group discussions
- Home visit.
Project justification:
There is still a gap when it comes to knowledge on elderly care by the volunteer caregivers. So far, their supervisors only have been trained . There is therefore need to capacitate some more volunteer caregivers so as to improve on the quality of services received by the community.
Training of women caregivers will ensure sustainability since these caregivers are community based and act as the eyes, the legs and the link between the community and health centers. They were also identified by the community as approachable, honest and trustworthy members who can assist them while maintaining confidentiality. These women caregivers are also motivated by the wealth of knowledge that is bestowed on them making them the focal persons in their villages. They also work in the community they live and some of the clients are their relatives and so culturally they are expected to help.

Human Rights Day (10.12.2021) is all about EQUALITY - Reducing inequalities, advancing human rights. Today the world that we live in is divided by so many opinions and discriminations against gender, race, caste, and religion. For LGBTQIA+ individuals, Human Rights Day has Special Meaning. LGBTQIA children and young adults face social stigma and experience widespread discrimination and abuse; serious human rights violations that can have lifelong consequences, including for their health. They struggle to find inclusive education and supportive health care. And they often experience several pressure to suppress, conceal or change their sexual orientation or gender identity.
We have documented explained to our residents some of the difficulties which LGBT youth face around the globe. Since we don’t live in an ideal world human rights of these discriminated people are under threat and they are only struggling and in doing so many have lost their lives as well. To safeguard the basic Human Rights for such a marginalised community we must be united and reciprocate each and every gender based discrimination strongly. Whenever we encounter any such violation of human rights in our lives, let’s be inspired enough to take a step to end this and celebrate the rights to be in peace and harmony.

Transgender Day of Remembrance :
Around the world, transgender and gender non-conforming people are subjected to staggering levels of violence, harassment, and discrimination on the basis of their gender identity or expression. It is for us to do the work of the ones who couldn’t be here with us to fight this battle of gender equality. Today's day is to remember those victims who lost their lives in trans antagonistic violence. We mourn the transgender and gender non-conforming persons who have lost their lives to bigotry, we will continue to pursue a world where all people may live free from violence and gender based discrimination.
