Quality and credibility in certification begin with competence, consistency and impartiality.

The TCB Division, under NABET, QCI, conducted a specialised training programme for the professionals of Gujarat Organic Products Certification Agency (GOPCA), Ahmedabad, on “Requirements of ISO/IEC 17065:2012 for Product Certification Bodies & Organic Production Certification.”

The session was graced by Shri Anil Patel, Director, GOPCA, and covered key aspects of accreditation requirements, certification processes, impartiality, competence, and organic production certification.

The programme provided practical insights to strengthen certification practices and support greater confidence in credible and reliable organic products.

ADVANCING QUALITY ACROSS INSPECTION & LABORATORY SYSTEMS

It was a month of focused learning and capability building at Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bengaluru, as the TCB Division, under NABET, conducted two specialised training programmes:

🔹 Requirements of ISO/IEC 17020:2026 for Inspection Bodies
🔹 Laboratory System and Internal Audit as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017

The programmes brought together professionals to deepen their understanding of inspection and laboratory systems, internal audits, competence, and continual improvement.

The sessions were graced by Dr. J. Sreedevi, Director General, CPRI, reflecting CPRI’s continued commitment to advancing quality, competence and reliability across the power research ecosystem.

From strengthening systems to building capability, the training programmes reinforced the importance of quality-driven practices and continual improvement.

TCB Division, under NABET, successfully conducted an impactful training programme on “Medical Laboratory System and Internal Audit as per ISO 15189:2022” for the esteemed team at the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), New Delhi.

The training was graced by Dr. Sandhya Kabra, Director, NCDC, and focused on the latest requirements of the revised standard, with emphasis on laboratory competence, quality management and patient safety.

The programme also provided participants with practical insights into internal audit techniques to support continual improvement and strengthen the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic outcomes.

Empowering ICMR’s Technical Workforce for a Future-Ready Research Ecosystem

The 21-day on-site phase of Batch 5 of SAKSHAM – Orientation Programme for Newly Inducted ICMR Technical Assistants has commenced at the Indian Institute of Bank Management (IIBM), Guwahati, following an engaging week of virtual learning.

Strengthening Institutional Accessibility across ICMR Institutes

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional accessibility across ICMR Institutes, TCB–NABET, Quality Council of India (QCI) successfully conducted a training programme on Strengthening Institutional Accessibility at ICMR-NIOHR, Ahmedabad.

Through an interactive and experiential approach, participants engaged in activities such as Design Thinking, Barrier Experience, Accessibility Quiz, and Problem-Solving Exercises to understand accessibility challenges, identify barriers from diverse perspectives, and develop practical, inclusive solutions.

The programme was attended by the Deputy Director General (DDG), ICMR; Shri Jagdish Rajesh, Director, ICMR-NIOHR; Dr. Bhavesh Modi; and senior ICMR officials, Dr. Ravinder and Ms. Seema from Headquarters, reflecting the strong institutional commitment towards accessibility and inclusion.
