Jammu Police Cracks Two Theft Cases; Two Accused Arrested, Stolen Property Worth Approx. ₹17 Lakh Recovered by PS Domana

Jammu,09.09.2026:

In a significant success, Jammu Police has cracked two theft cases registered at Police Station Domana with the arrest of two accused persons and recovery of stolen gold/silver articles and cash worth approximately ₹17 lakh.

The cases were registered as FIR No. 180/2026 and FIR No. 189/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 305 BNS following theft complaints received on 20.08.2026 and 02.09.2026.

During investigation, police teams constituted by PS Domana, with the assistance of technical surveillance and CCTV footage, identified and apprehended the accused persons, namely:

Shubam Kumar S/o Satish Kumar R/o Gurha Brahmana, Jammu

Sahil Kumar S/o Subash Chander R/o Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu

Based on their disclosure and subsequent investigation, gold/silver articles worth approximately ₹15 lakh and cash amounting to about ₹2 lakh were recovered in connection with the two cases.

Investigation further revealed that the accused allegedly used a scooty bearing a fake registration number plate while committing thefts in different areas to conceal their identity and evade detection.

Preliminary investigation has also revealed their involvement in multiple previous cases registered at different police stations.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain their involvement in other theft incidents and to recover additional stolen property.

In an initiative aimed at further strengthening Police-Public relations and community engagement Sh Naresh Singh JKPS SSP Rajouri along with ASP Hqrs Rajouri and other officers of District Police Rajouri interacted with members of the Civil Society and representatives of various associations organisation at District Police Lines Rajouri.

The Civil Society members and representatives of various associations welcomed SSP Rajouri and discussed several important issues pertaining to the district and assured full cooperation in maintaining law & order. SSP Rajouri gave a patient hearing to all the issues and concerns raised by the members.

SSP Rajouri assured the participants that Rajouri Police would address the issues raised by them on priority, besides maintaining continuous coordination with the Civil Society and various stakeholders.

The interaction reaffirmed Rajouri Police’s commitment towards people-centric policing, strengthening community partnership and better public service .

J&K Police, NCB & Punjab Police Apprehend South Kashmir Drug Trafficker Who Fled From NCB Custody In Jammu

Jammu, Sep 10: In a joint operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Punjab Police have apprehended notorious drug trafficker Aqib Bashir, a resident of South Kashmir, who had fled from NCB custody in Jammu few days back.

Officials told GNS that Aqib Bashir had escaped from NCB office in Jammu recently and a manhunt was launched to nab him.

He has now been apprehended by joint teams of J&K Police, NCB and Punjab Police.
