On the occasion of National Sports Day 2026, the Department of Legal Affairs along with the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law & Justice organised a two-day Inter-Departmental Sports Event at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi on 1st & 2nd September 2026.

Day 1 witnessed enthusiastic participation across a range of sporting events including Women’s Cricket, Lemon Race, 100 Metre Race, Tug of War, Ball Throw and Men’s Cricket, reflecting the spirit of teamwork, determination and healthy competition.

Day 2 featured the much-awaited Finals of Men’s Cricket, bringing together participants in a spirit of enthusiasm and discipline. The two-day sporting celebration concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony to recognise and celebrate the achievements of all participants.

Celebrating National Sports Day 2026 in the spirit of the Fit India Movement.

More than 300 officers and employees of the Legislative Department and the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice, came together at Talkatora Stadium for two days of cricket, athletics, tug of war and other sporting events.

The events witnessed enthusiastic participation and reflected the values that sport brings to the workplace, including fitness, discipline, resilience, teamwork and camaraderie.

At the concluding ceremony, Dr Manoj Kumar, Additional Secretary, Legislative Department, along with Smt Renu Sinha, Shri G. Panmei and Shri Ashwani, Joint Secretaries & Legislative Counsels, felicitated the winners and participants and presented awards, trophies and medals.

The celebration carried forward the message of Fit India, encouraging fitness and active living as a part of everyday life.

The Department of Justice organised an interaction session on September 2, 2026, with interns of the third and final batch of the Summer Internship Programme FY 2026–27. Chairing the session, Shri Suresh Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, encouraged the interns to share their experiences and suggestions about their internship journey.
