REFERENCE LIBRARY: OVERVIEW

IGNCA’s Reference library popularly known as ‘Kala Nidhi’, invites students, researchers, art teachers and academicians from schools, colleges and universities to use its rich research and reference materials. The collection is particularly strong in the area like Art History, Religion Archaeology, Ritual Studies, Performing Arts, Anthropology , Sociology and Literary

studies etc. The library has an air-conditioned reading room with study carrels, photocopy facility and Internet Connectivity.

 1,75,000 books including a rich collection of reference sources.
 Over 3000 rare books (All Digitized)
 Personal libraries of eminent scholars like Prof. Hazari Prasad Dwivedi and Thakur Jaidev Singh etc.
 Current issues of more than 100 Indian and foreign scholarly journals
 Over 15000 bound volumes of journals including back issues of important periodicals in the area of Arts, History, Classical Literature, Religion, Sociology and Archeology etc. starting from volume one onwards
 Electronic databases such as JSTOR , Wilson Arts Abstract and Index ,EBSCO Humanities International Complete, J-gate Art and Humanities etc.
 Over One Lakh digitized visuals comprising of Indian miniature paintings, archaeological sites, monuments and architectural wonders in South and Southeast Asia.
 Over 3 lac Ancient Indian Manuscripts (All Digitized)
