Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Civil Service 52nd Batch Officers of the service are responsible for the diverse administrative and executive functions of the NCT of Delhi and the Union Territories.

Officers of the service are recruited directly through UPSC Civil Services Examination. Cadre controlling authority of DANICS is Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Training of DANICS Officers


DANICS officers undergo a two years rigorous training at Directorate of Training Union Territory Civil Services, where they get acquainted with various laws , public administration , management concepts, econo

mics, service rules etc. to prepare them for their onerous and diverse responsibilities as civil service officers. To groom their personalities further, they are also taught skills like swimming, driving, project management and trekking. Postings of DANICS Officers

After training DANICS officers are initially posted as Sub Divisional Magistrate (District Administration, Delhi) and are also posted at various significant posts in Union Territories.They may also be posted to various departments like VAT, Excise, Transport, Education, Labour, Prisons etc or in various ministries of Delhi government at key positions. Further DANICS officers go on deputation in the Autonomous Bodies of Delhi like MCD, NDMC, DDA, DTC, DSIIDC, DTTDC etc.
