CLEAN congratulates E-Hands Energy (India) Pvt. Ltd. for being Clean Energy Star for December, 2022 to address the unreliable electricity and internet connectivity which limit the access to financial services offered by banks. E-hands designed a solar branch supported by a battery bank to provide capacity ranging from 0.6kW to 5kW. This runs entirely on clean energy operating on 'off-grid' mode, thus dissolving the need to depend on the diesel generator and the intermittent grid connectivity.

This has now grown to run over 800+ branches across 23 states. These have facilitated over 24 million financial transactions providing 1.4 million people access to banking services.

Solar Mamas: The group has so far trained more than 2,000 women in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, using the app to inculcate the habit of saving, follow household budgeting, understand debt, carry out ATM transactions and leverage the power of UPI.

CLEAN members D.light solar company Resham Sutra Inficold India Pvt. Ltd. Navitas Solar Himadri Energy International participated and demonstrated the solar based livelihood products.

People's perception critical for energy transition: IIT-Kanpur study

The Just Transition Research Centre of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (JTRC IIT-K) released a new report titled "What is Just Transition? Perception of Grassroots Stakeholders" at a virtual discussion hosted by Climate Trends on G20 Under India's Presidency and Energy Transition.

The perception scale developed by IIT-Kanpur, the first of its kind, looked at three key dimensions of just transition -- coal downside, environment protection and community livelihood.
