Eyeway

Eyeway We are an interactive information hub on living Life with Blindness. We disseminate information by way of Communication, Advocacy, Research and Training.

We at Score Foundation believe:
1. The problem is not blindness; it’s the thinking
2. Disability is God given, but handicap is man-made
3. Knowledge has the power to change lives
4. Blind and visually impaired people are a part of the human resource of the country. The need is to invest in them rather than merely providing for them
5. There is a need to focus on possibilities and potential rather

than disability

Our experience over the years indicates that blind people largely exist in the fringes of our community. The real problem is not being blind it is the perception that come attached with it. Limited understanding and knowledge about blindness is the problem. We work towards changing perceptions, of sighted as well as blind people themselves. It is perception that impacts the kind of education blind people have access to. It is perceptions that determine the way parents respond to their children’s blindness. It is perception that determines how the society responds to blind people. It is perception that defines how the government looks at blind people. Perceptions determine how government rolls out its policy, plans and programmes. With support from Hans Foundation we are trying to impact these perceptions through a series of interactive sessions with various stakeholders. If you would like to organize such a session in your organization/locality reach out to us at [email protected]

“I was a teacher, building a future, until one day changed everything.”

On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti in 1991, a brutal acid attack took away his vision.

But it could not take away his purpose.

An acid attack took away his sight, but not his vision for change.
In this episode of Eyeway Rubaru, we speak with Chandrashekhar Shukla, who turned personal tragedy into a mission to educate and empower blind children.

Starting a school in a rural area with limited resources, he created a space where children with visual impairments can learn, grow, and dream. From mobilising communities to supporting students beyond academics, his journey is a powerful reminder of resilience, purpose, and the impact of one determined individual.

A deaf and blind student scoring 98.75% in her Class 12 board exams is what accountability in education looks like. Her name is Sara Moin.

George Abraham, CEO of SCORE Foundation, congratulates Sara, her family, and her educators for this outstanding achievement and for ensuring Sara had the right support at every stage of her education.

Sara now wants to pursue higher education at a central university through CUET. Score Foundation requests the National Testing Agency to provide her with accessible exam tools including an NVDA screen reader, a refreshable Braille Orbit device, and questions in accessible digital format so that Sara can write her exam and continue the journey she has so brilliantly earned.

Eyeway Rubaru, an initiative by Score Foundation under Project Eyeway, is a platform that brings forth real-life stories of people who experience late blindness, individuals who rebuild their lives with determination and dignity.
