DU to empower teachers for Skill Enhancement Courses

Delhi University in collaboration with GAD-TLC of the MoE, GoI at SGTB Khalsa College, today launched a series of On-line Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) to empower teachers for various Skill-enhancement courses (SECs). These FDPs which will be completed in two phases aim towards preparing teachers for effective implementation of SECs across various DU Colleges in a uniform manner. Phase -1 is from 27 October- 04 November and Phase-2 from 04 -11 November. 41 Skill Enhancenent courses have been introduced by University of Delhi from the Academic Session- 2022-23 under the National Education Policy-2020. Skill Enhancement Courses are expected to help in the holistic development of the students as envisaged in NEP-2020.
More than 500 teachers are attending the Phase-1 of the program.
The SECs cover diverse disciplines such as basic IT skills, phyton, communication skills, big date analytics, statistics with ‘R’, usiness intelligence and data visualisation etc.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, DU. Amongst others who spoke on the occasion include Prof A K Bakhshi, Prof. K. Ratnabali, Prof. Payal Mago, Dr. Vikas Gupta, Prof Jaswinder Singh and Prof. Vimal Rarh.
