Wearing a mask of Indian flag on the occasion of Independence Day

The flag of India is a symbol of pride, patriotism and self-reliance and using the national flag as a mask is not only violation of section 2(v) of flag code of India but also an insult to our indian flag. Time and again it was directed by the various High courts and even a panel was held by the supreme court in which some directed/ guidelines were laid by panellist for using the national flag by the common citizens and the punishment for deliberate disrespect and for its misuses. The minimum punishment is one year for such intentional disrespect. The panel in its directions also stated that common citizen can use the national flag for showing their affection towards the nation but the safeguard of the flag has to be taken care. That is why one wiser person has said greater freedom comes with greater responsibilities.

Even after the amendment in section 2 of the flag code of India, national flag has been kept asides from using as a portion of costume or uniform of any description or printed upon cushions, handkerchief, napkin or any dress material. Nowadays Trending tricolour mask is patent disrespect towards our national flag.

Be a responsible citizen of India and don’t use the flag of our nation as a mask

It is an undisputed fact that both industry and labourers are depended upon each other and cannot survive without each other.
However, due to Covid-19 pandemic, the government of India declared nationwide lockdown and resultant closure of the workplace due to which employers laid off their employees/labourers from their respective jobs.
The Supreme Court vide judgment dated 12.05.2020 has passed some direction to protect the interest of both employer and employees
• Efforts should be made to sort out the differences and disputes by way of settlement or negotiation between the workers and the employers concerning the payment of wages for the period of lockdown, i.e. 50 days.
• And if they are unable to settle by way of settlement or negotiation then the party can submit a request to concerned labour authorities who are entrusted with the obligation under the different statute to conciliate the dispute between the parties who on receiving such request, may call the concerned Employees Trade Union/workers Association/ workers to appear on a date for negotiation, conciliation and settlement.
