Kerala IT Kerala IT is a collection of technology parks developed by the Government of Kerala.

Kerala IT is a collection of technology parks developed by the Government of Kerala, who has built, and continue to operate and manage, IT parks for the promotion, development of, and investment in IT & ITES industries across the state of Kerala. The three primary IT Parks are located in Trivandrum, Kochi and Kozhikode, and have developed rapidly over the years. Starting with Infopark, Kochi in 2003, the booming IT potential of Kerala only drew more and more investment into the state. Soon after, Technopark, Trivandrum and Cyberpark, Kozhikode were added to the Kerala IT family. Combined, these IT Parks are divided into a Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and non – SEZ facilities, that are home to hundreds of major Multinational Corporations, and employ over hundreds of thousands of working professionals across industries.

A new chapter in digital governance began today in our state with the launch of Nammude Keralam 2.0 along with four other citizen centric initiatives of the Keralam State IT Mission.

The programme was inaugurated by Shri P. K. Kunhalikutty, Hon. Minister for Industries, Electronics, IT and AI, Government of Keralam. Shri Sandip Kumar IAS, Director, KSITM, delivered the welcome address, and Shri Seeram Sambasiva Rao IAS, Special Secretary, Electronics and IT Department, gave the keynote address. Felicitations were offered by Shri G. Venugopal, Councillor, Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, Dr. Saji Gopinath, Vice Chancellor, Digital University Kerala, and Ms. Divya Khemani Wadhera, Lead, Strategic Programs and Partnerships, Meta. Dr. Sabarish K, Head of e-Governance, KSITM, proposed the vote of thanks.

Nammude Keralam 2.0 brings government services from multiple departments into one digital platform, with more than 30 new citizen centric services added to the existing 150 plus. The Citizen Experience Index (CX Index) will measure government services from the citizen's point of view and help departments improve them. WhatsApp Government Services will let citizens submit CMO complaints, pay utility bills and track applications through the messaging app they already use. The AI powered Government Chatbot will answer questions on services, eligibility and documents in Malayalam and English, based on authentic government sources. The K-AI Programme will find responsible AI solutions to real problems faced by government departments, in partnership with startups, industry and research institutions.

Together, these initiatives move digital governance from citizens searching for services to services reaching citizens, in a simple and familiar way. Technology should be a bridge that reduces the distance between government and citizens, not another layer between them.

Keralam is launching five major digital governance initiatives under the leadership of Kerala State IT Mission to make public services simpler, more accessible, and more citizen-friendly.

Nammude Keralam 2.0, WhatsApp Government Services, CX Index, AI-Powered Government Chatbot, and the K-AI Programme will be inaugurated by Shri P K Kunhalikutty, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Electronics, IT & AI, on 30 September 2026 at 11.00 AM at Hyatt Regency, Thiruvananthapuram.

These initiatives mark an important step in transforming the way citizens access government services and information. The objective is to move from a system where citizens have to search across multiple offices, websites and platforms, to a more integrated model where services, information, grievance redressal and citizen participation are made available through convenient and familiar digital channels.

Nammude Keralam 2.0 will bring a wide range of government services together on a unified digital platform, enabling citizens to access services, track applications and grievances, receive notifications, request appointments with officials, report public issues, participate in government programmes, and access emergency assistance.

The CX Index will help assess government services from the citizen’s perspective by using feedback to measure service quality, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement in public service delivery.

WhatsApp Government Services will make selected services available through a platform already familiar to the public, including the facility to submit and track grievances to the Chief Minister’s Office through WhatsApp.

The AI-Powered Government Chatbot will provide citizens with authentic government information through conversational interaction in Malayalam and English, helping them understand procedures, eligibility, required documents and service-related details. The K-AI Programme will provide a responsible and structured framework for identifying real-world governance challenges and developing AI-based solutions in collaboration with startups, industry and research institutions.

Together, these initiatives represent the next phase of Kerala’s citizen-centric digital transformation. They reflect a governance approach in which technology is used not as another layer between government and citizens, but as a bridge that brings public services closer to the people.

Keralam strengthens its digital governance with a fresh set of initiatives.

As part of the Government of Keralam's 100 Days Programme, the Kerala State IT Mission is set to launch five major initiatives tomorrow aimed at making government services simpler, faster and more transparent for every citizen.
The initiatives include the Nammude Keralam 2.0 App, a unified platform that brings government services closer to citizens. The Kerala Citizen Experience Index Portal, known as the CX Index, will track and improve how citizens experience the govt. online services. WhatsApp based Government Services will allow citizens to access essential services directly through WhatsApp. An AI Chatbot will offer instant, round the clock assistance for citizen queries. And the Kerala Artificial Intelligence, known as K-AI, will introduce an AI powered decision support system that helps government departments make faster, evidence based decisions, with officers always retaining final authority.
Together, these initiatives mark a defining moment for Kerala's digital transformation, strengthening the state's position as a leader in e-governance and citizen centric technology.

The event will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 11 am, at Hyatt Regency, Thiruvananthapuram.

Kerala is opening new pathways for young innovators with the launch of Idea Box, a Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) platform that enables them to submit innovative ideas and track their progress towards implementation.

Minister for Industries, IT and AI P. K. Kunhalikutty launched the platform at IEDC Summit 2026, held at Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, Kodakara, Thrissur. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to helping ideas emerging from campuses develop into successful ventures.

The Minister also launched the Unified Startup Portal and Dashboard, bringing together information on startups, programmes, resources and ecosystem data. The summit introduced the Hykon Innovation Challenge, encouraging innovators to solve real-world problems.

Organised under the theme “Innovation Beyond the Future,” the summit brought together more than 5,000 participants, with representation from 601 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centres across Kerala’s 14 districts, alongside over 250 startups.

IT Secretary Seeram Sambasiva Rao highlighted the importance of expanding access to the startup ecosystem and strengthening the knowledge economy through research, innovation and entrepreneurship. KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika emphasised the goal of turning ideas into enterprises and developing technology products for global markets.

With stronger connections between campuses, industry and institutional support, Kerala is helping the next generation take their ideas further.

Kerala’s growing technology and innovation ecosystem continues to attract international attention.

Ms Mariana L. Neisuler, U.S. Consul General in Chennai, visited Technopark Thiruvananthapuram to gain a closer understanding of Kerala’s technology capabilities, innovation ecosystem and world-class IT infrastructure.

During the visit, she held discussions with Shri Seeram Sambasiva Rao, IAS, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Government of Kerala, in the presence of Shri Sandip Kumar, IAS, CEO, Technopark, and Shri Anoop Ambika, CEO, Kerala Startup Mission. Senior representatives from leading Technopark companies and GTech also participated in the interaction.

The discussions explored potential avenues for collaboration across key technology and innovation sectors and highlighted Kerala’s strengths as a destination for global technology enterprises, research-led innovation and high-value partnerships.

The delegation also visited Fab Lab Kerala and GenRobotics, gaining first-hand insights into the state’s expanding capabilities in deep technology, robotics, advanced prototyping and technology-driven solutions with real-world impact.

The visit reflects the growing international interest in Kerala’s technology ecosystem and opens new possibilities for deeper engagement, knowledge exchange and global collaboration.

Kerala’s proposition to Global Capability Centres is moving decisively from invitation to enablement.

At the second edition of ETGCCWorld SURGE 2026 - India’s largest residential GCC summit - in Kovalam, the Government of Kerala unveiled the Kerala GCC Boilerplate, a coordinated framework to help global enterprises move faster from evaluating the state to establishing and scaling operations here.

Unveiled by Shri P. K. Kunhalikutty, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, IT & AI, in the presence of Shri Seeram Sambasiva . Rao, IAS, Special Secretary, Electronics & IT, the framework offers plug-and-play office space with up to six months of rent-free operations, empanelled partners for company setup, technology, talent and business support, and an Investment Enablement Officer to guide enterprises from expression of interest through establishment and expansion.
The initiative advances Kerala’s ambition to grow from 50+ operational GCCs today to 150 by 2031. Presenting “Keralam: An Ecosystem for Global Capability,” Shri Sambasiva highlighted the state’s talent base, low attrition, cost competitiveness, global diaspora and digital public infrastructure, including KFON, the State Data Centre and citizen platforms. He also outlined opportunities in emerging technologies, semiconductors, space, aviation and deep tech, supported by research, academia-industry linkages, investment facilitation and global outreach.

Industry leaders reinforced why the opportunity is timely during “The Next Wave of GCC Growth: Why Kerala. Why Now,” moderated by Suja Chandy, Chief Sustainability Officer & Managing Director, India, Zafin.Muraleedharan Manningal, CEO, ICT Academy of Kerala, emphasised proactive governance and the talent pipeline built through academia-industry collaboration. Hari Prasad Krishna Pillai, VP & Managing Director, India, H&R Block, highlighted low attrition, cost effectiveness and domain expertise, noting that partnerships with ICTAK & ASAP Kerala helped the company scale locally. Arun Narayan Thekkethil, Centre Head, Tata Consultancy Services Kochi, said Kerala’s alignment of government, academia and industry enables GCCs to move from capability delivery to value creation and innovation.

Bhaskar Verma, Regional Director, nasscom, invited global companies to establish R&D functions in Kerala and benefit from its research institutions and domain-ready talent. Jison John, MD & CEO, India and Chief Delivery Officer, Asia & Africa, Allianz Services, and Richard A., India Operations Director, EY GDS, underscored the combined advantage of quality of life, accessible talent and workforce stability.

With around 125 GCC leaders discussing the next phase of India’s GCC growth, SURGE 2026 offered a strong industry endorsement of Kerala’s direction.

Kerala’s researchers and technology entrepreneurs have a new platform to turn promising ideas into products with the inauguration of the Atal Established Incubation Centre (Atal EIC) at the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Kerala (IIITM-K), Technopark, Trivandrum

Supported by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, the centre brings together researchers, startups, industry and investors to help technology ventures develop, commercialise and grow.

The initiative forms part of the Kerala Government’s 100-day action programme under Chief Minister Shri V. D. Satheesan. Shri Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, was the Chief Guest.

The centre will provide incubation, laboratory facilities, prototyping, testing, mentoring, industry connections, and investment and commercialisation support. Its priority areas include semiconductor design, fabless products, AI hardware, edge computing, advanced materials, and marine and space electronics.

Through the CHIPMAT Commercialisation Grant, eligible ventures can receive up to ₹40 lakh per selected project to progress beyond prototypes towards validation, manufacturing readiness and commercialisation. The programme supports fabless startups, product companies, advanced-materials and application ventures, research teams, spin-offs and MSMEs. IIITM-K advances CHIPMAT through Maker Village, CoE on IIoT Sensors, Atal EIC and Semicon Kerala.

Six collaborative initiatives were launched across science and innovation infrastructure, STEM, corporate acceleration, design and simulation, semiconductors and robotics. Partners include Xtra G Club, Raspberry Pi Foundation, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and MathWorks India.

The ceremony also featured the unveiling of identities for Atal Incubation Centre, Semicon Keralam and Maker Hub; the C-DAC–ARIES book release; a simulation portal launch; MoU exchanges; and the distribution of CHIPMAT grant letters to startups.
