Lam Dal (Lake) is reachable from 3 passes that are Minkiani Pass, Indrahar Pass and Gaj Pass. It is apparently the largest and deepest lake in the area with a circumference of about 2.5 km. One can notice small caves around the lake which are mostly used by local shepherds called Gaddi. Camping around the lake is bound to leave you mesmerised. The trek to Lam Dal Lake begins from the captivating region of Bharmour. Trekkers then reach Barie through train from and then reach Drakund, which is a 10-km trek, thereafter it’s a 12-km trek to Lam Dal.

🗣️ Very Old Temple Made of Rocks.

Location: Shiv Shakti Temple, Chhatrari, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, India

Human beings have quite evolved with time so their faith too. Shakti Devi Temple situated at the Chhatrari village in Chamba provides a unique chance to look back in the history and understand our faith. This temple is situated on the old Mani Mahesh route which pilgrims used to take when present roads were not constructed. Today, due to roads, no one takes this route and so this temple has lost some of its glory and very few people reach here.

However, the good point is that local people have kept it alive through constant devotion. Chhatrari festival is very famous in which local dress as demons and perform a dance. In my life, I never have seen such an old temple with so unique style and wooden art. This temple is a hidden jewel for those who want to see something unique.

This temple can be covered on the back journey from Bharmour. You need to ask locals to reach the temple by crossing the narrow paths because it is situated in the middle of the village. At the entrance of the temple, we can find a water spring which provides water to this village. By visiting this temple, you also get a chance to see the life of people of upper Chamba.

You need to be alone when you are not at home with yourself. When spending a night by yourself makes you want to tremble and take cover from the storm that rages on inside your mind, you need to learn to find your own shelter. When you want someone else to come and hold you close just to distract you from yourself, you need to learn to hold your own hand. We can love one another but nobody can save us from ourselves and when we don’t understand that in the slightest, we need to be alone the most.
